He is a hilarious guy. This class is really easy. Attendance is not mandatory, but you have to show up to do well. That being said, all you have to do is write down notes when he says to write them. He literally will tell you exactly when and what to write and all you have to do is study this small amount of notes for the test. Easy A.

Comment:

Looked forward to his class every week. He doesn't take attendance or use a textbook. His lectures are engaging and interesting, as well as hilarious. Goes on tangents. He is incredibly wise. Go to class, pay attention, he will tell you exactly what to write down in your notes. Study your notes before the tests and you'll pass. Easy as that.

He is 88 years old. Wisest man I ever spoke to. strict NO PHONE policy. I didn't want to use my phone. Tests are multiple choice and comes word for word from the notes he tells you to write down. I highly recommend taking him. Best professor I ever had.

Ok, so he is probably such a nice old man outside of class, but he and I did not work well. He only talks, with minimal board writing. He has everything memorized. No textbooks, no powerpoints, hardly ever writes actual notes on the board. You gotta write your own notes from what he says. He'll repeat 2x that's it. Can be funny/nice. WAY POLICITCAL

Wisest man ive ever met! His personality shines through the roof. He makes the class exciting and makes everyone participate. He is your textbook, no textbook needed. However, he does not play with the cell phone business. I recommend anyone who wants to learn more about society and this world to take him!

Bergen is my second university and Solomon is my favorite professor and quite possibly the most interesting man I have ever came across. He has done everything, he's gone everywhere and has incredible stories that make you want to live life as well as he has. This class is not hard. He tells you everything you need to know. Take this professor.

He likes to curse a lot and all his tests are difficult. Especially because he doesn't prepare the students for the test. He is not organized and 80% of the class is about his travels and only 20% is about the class. He is forgetful, he repeat himself and forgets certain things to teach because he doesn't use a book.

Professor Solomon is excellent! If you like when old stories of the past come to life this is your class. Not only does he give no homework but as long as you are respectful and not tardy, he will tell you all the notes you need for the test. I would write down what he says and he goes slow. He is super funny and full of life. No HW no attendance..

This professor locks the door when you are late. I'm a diligent student and I leave my home early in order for me to get there on time. I was stuck in traffic that was out of my control because I had not anticipated it and I was locked out of class. A professors job is to teach you, not deprive you of your education due 2 unfortunate circumstances.

this class isn't an easy A. you have to work it. his tests aren't as hard as people are making them out to be... he literally dictates the notes you should write which are all on the test. just show up, pay attention, and study. if you can't handle that, then please reevaluate college. his lectures are amazing, and there's never any homework.

Solomon's class is hard because he barely writes on the board and doesn't give any review sheets. Tests are a struggle and you have to take your own notes on what he only says which is hard to keep up with. The only funny thing is that he curses all the time which is hilarious.

This guy's old, but he's great. I've had him for two semesters. He tells you what EXACTLY is on the tests. No homework, but you need to STUDY for the tests. I can see why people think the tests are difficult, but they're not - you just need to PAY ATTENTION in class. Participation is important. Some of his lectures have changed my life, seriously.

If you choose not to show up for class, you will not pass because he does not use textbooks. You need to be in class to listen to his lectures and take notes even though he does not take attendance, which you should be doing in the first place if youre paying money for a class. Pay attention and youll do great. He's an amazing professor.

I absolutely love love love this professor!!! I had the best experience in his lectures. He is so knowledgeable and interesting, he travelled 90 countries and speaks several languages. I never once was bored in his class. His tests are not bad at all just make sure to take a lot of notes!!!

There is no textbook for this course, and he does not take attendance. This does not mean be absent as many times as you like unless you plan on catching the notes from a classmate because you won't pass his tests without them. He is super funny and has a lot to offer from his life experiences. I would totally take him again.
