Comment:

Amazing professor, very clear about his expectations. He taught this class with Te-Wen Lo and they both worked off each other very well. Many demonstrations and always willing to go back of someone doesn't understand something. Attendance was not taken but missing a class would set you behind. Everything posted online, quick to email back.

Andy is so enthusiastic. His lectures are fun and interesting (Has hilarious and adorable demonstrations), although a lot of it is just listening and copying what we wrote on the board. His power-points are mostly pictures. It's necessary to be in class when he's teaching or you'll be confused. He's easy to contact and explains very well!

Comment:

Principles of Bio was a horrible class and about half the class out of 100 failed it. This is because principles is designed to weed out the students who arent super serious. The goal isnt to teach his students and it sucked trying to learn with that style. He's a great, and excited teacher but he just isnt a good one.

First of all, Animal Physiology is a hard class. But, Andy is a great guy. He is very thorough with his notes, and is willing to go out of his way to help you. The book is absolutely useless. Don't buy is because you will never use it. Go to the review sessions, and study really hard. An A is hard to get, but it's possible.

he's okay...DONT WASTE MONEY ON THE BOOK. you will never use it. holds review sessions before each test, which were ridiculously hard, and i couldn't always figure out how they related to lecture. labs were completely pointless.

Best Teacher at Ithaca hands down. Yes he is a hard grader, but he makes you think outside the box for the answers. He seperates the smart from the weak. Class is NEVER boring. Hes funny, animated, and smart.

This class is so interesting and Andy gives great examples that you can apply to everyday life. He also does hilarious demonstrations that make everything oh-so-clear. He is a brilliant man and very animated, but you have to go to class and study hard to do well. If you get an A in the class, you deserve it.

He is funny and a nice guy, but his tests are impossible and have nothing to do with the reading or lectures. I would go for help once a week and attend all review sessions, but his way of teaching just went in one ear and out the other. His class was impossible and it made me switch my major to something totally different.

He's so animated in class and he gets all excited about bio- its definately NOT boring. He keeps your attention with little toys and stuff that he uses to make hard concepts make sense. His tests are hard and the book is complex, SO go to class, pay attention, and STUDY for the tests.

He's an awesome professor, extremely clear in lectures and exams, but can talk kinda fast. He memorizes everyone's name in the lecture (120 students!) and calls on you by name when you want to answer a question. Great demonstrations with kids' toys!
