Such a terrible experience. Long's expectations are absolutely unrealistic. You're lucky if you pass her economic course because you have no other opportunity for grades/points other then the 5 exams. & the exams themselves are so hard. GWU at a masters level doesn't even give exams like Long does. She's not approachable nor helpful at all.

She is very passionate about the discipline. She grades strictly so your best bet for a passing grade is to come to class because she literally gives you the exact kind of answers she expects on a test. No group projects. Reading is the only homework usually. But again, going to her lectures are the most important key to passing.

College professor with no common sense....grades according to European standards and bases the grades on four extremely difficult exams. First exam, despite the fact 10 out of 22 students FAILED the exam, she refused to curve it or even offer an extra credit opportunity. Doesn't grasp the concept of the difference between undergrads and graduates.

I wouldn't recommend taking her class. Seriously! She is an unrealistic grader who makes everything easy before exam, but when you get back your exam, you will be surprised with your grade. Most student don't do well...Unless if you want unnecessary stress in your life. You can take this class from her...

Traveled with Long for Eco 585 study abroad. Whoever wrote her syllabus and or program guide should be fired. Missing dates and prominent contact information, unclear assignment instructions, typos and misspelled words! Although I have to admit that her level of confidence can be quite amusing sometimes, especially when she is dead wrong.

Her class is easy. Her exams are easy. I made over 100% on every exam. If you take notes, study them, and are capable of college level material, you'll get 100% too. Seriously, if you don't know what WTO or GATT is, what are you doing in an upper level business class?

Economics is not an exciting topic. She teaches is well, is strict, and her exams are take homes. Make sure you go to class and take good notes. She follows the book well, and exams are straight forward. She seems strict, but really is one of the more challenging people at the school. Good Prof!!!

i took her for intl business. hated the class! she is boring and her exams are hard! i still dont understand how she grades or why points are taken off. she is always in a hurry and doesnt seem very interested in answering your questions. DO NOT TAKE HER!

Definitely attend class - if you pay attention and take lots of notes, you will do OK. Hard to understand the exams, but follows the class material pretty well. ECON is not exactly the most exciting topic, but she makes it bearable. I recommend her class.
