Allbaugh is a great professor. My only problem with him is the amount of paper we have to print and bring to class. Ive learned a lot so far. He picks good short stories and has prompts based on them. If you do the work and actually try youll pass easily. I recommend taking him if you can.

Dr. Allbaugh is a wonderful professor who takes his time in critically analyzing our papers, providing class time to be able to discuss them with our peers and him, as well as individuals meetings to discuss how to grow our papers and our writing skills. I especially like his method in assigning few papers but papers that we have to fine-tune.

If you're not wanting to be a teacher, do not take his class. The only reason I took this class is because it was the only class that would fit into my schedule. If you can avoid taking this class, do it at all costs! The entire semester is about teaching, which is not that bad, but everything is repeated over and over again. Very boring.

He was super helpful. Whine came to essays, he would cancel class when they are do and instead do 15min one on one meetings to discuss the rough draft and give you specific helpful tips to better your paper to get the A.

He's super nice. Listens to everyone even if they're being super annoying and asking stupid questions. My class was super passionate so he loves us. Love his no class day and meet with him 1 on 1 to talk about essay instead. Be prepare to write an essay a week!!!

Allbaugh is my favorite professor at APU. He obviously cares a lot about his students and taught me so much about non-fiction writing. He just doesn't enjoy when people don't take his class seriously. If you want to write in the future this is an essential class to take!

Truly enjoy Dr. Allbaugh's classes. Wonderful man who really knows what he's talking about. He isn't one of those teachers who teaches at you and rubs his PhD in your face. He's very helpful and always open to discussion. One of those teachers who seems to be invested in his students. Would definitely recommend!

Don't underestimate his knowledge. He might promote a system absent of formulas and full of creative freedom, but he is quite intelligent in his field. Homework assignments are typically vague and the reading is only discussed, not quizzed, but take advantage of this type of learning, don't abuse it.

Eh. Didn't learn much about the field of nonfiction. Did get to practice a lot on writing it though. But nothing like Kern's fiction course, where she prepares you for the fieldwork of fiction writing and what publishers want. He's nice though and helpful.

He is a really good teacher. I HIGHLY recommend taking his Rhetoric course for FreshmanWritingSeminar. You will learn how to make your papers 10x better than you could ever imagine!!! This was his non-fiction class. I really enjoyed him. He is a kind man and shows genuine interest in his students. There was journaling which was easy. The papers were fairly short. He is a good teacher and I felt very little pressure in this class.

Very helpful and willing to meet with students outside of class. If you take him you'll learn a lot if you understand his sense of humor which runs along the lines of 'dark comedy' in the sense he can be very ironic and self-deprecating. If you like that kind of humor he's pretty funny, if not he's as some girl I sit next to put it, "awk-waarrdd."
