A great person; very nice, cares about his students, and offers 15 points of extra credit. Just write 3 reports (very easy) and that is added to your average. An 85 is an A but you have to work for it. Two tests; midterm and final. You basically have to reteach yourself the material because it's difficult to understand him b/c of his thick accent.

It is not worth at all to take his class. There are only 8 or 9 classes in a whole semester. And he only teach 1 hour and a half in each 3 hours class. He is very lazy. He has a deep accent. And his class notes are disordered just like his language. You can't understand anything from his notes.

Very nice guy, really easy, very funny, so passionate. Just amazing guy. He is kind of hard to understand sometimes, but most of these reviews are just ridiculous. He demands 85 points for an A and during semester you can get like 110 points from tests, attendance and extra credit. Studied only from presentations. Two tests. Awesome guy.

Professor Chen's class consists of two tests- a midterm and a final. He uses his own point system (85+ points is an A), so you really have no room for mistakes when it comes to the midterm and final. If you miss no more than one class and study the powerpoints, you'll do fine.

Dr. Chen lectures directly from the powerpoint provided by the book, so it is pretty straightforward. His accent is not that bad. If you focus, it's not hard at all to hear what he's saying. You do need to study for the midterm and final, as they are the bulk of your grade. An average of 80 is an A, so would recommend him.

He's really nice and funny, and very passionate about economics. It's not a difficult class - 2 exams, clear lecture notes (PowerPoint), and not much homework. Only problem is his accent. Quite often, it's insanely difficult to understand the poor guy, which can make the 3 hours excruciating to sit through. Also, 85 is an A, which is awesome.

he's a terrible teacher but super passionate about Economics. If you just read through the lecture notes and show up to class 50% of the time and get C's on the midterm and final, you'll get a B in the class. (that's what happened to me)

You cannot understand a word he says during the entire 3 hour lecture. Bring a laptop to keep yourself occupied. His midterm and final is basically a bunch of MC questions pertaining to the chapters. You basically have to teach yourself by reading the text on your own time. I would only recommend him simply because all you need is an 85+ for an A.

Ok even though you cant understand a word coming out of his mouth, i think it is hilarious, and he is very passionate about economics. On top of this and 85 is an A. Just read his ppt and the txb and you should be more than fine. (I just played games on my laptop for 2.5 hours every class)

The first day of class he walked in and I was going to order chinese food. He says dadada after every other word. He is so hard to understand even if you stare at him the entire class. Do whatever you can to switch out of the class. I really have to teach myself with the textbook.

He doesn't really speak English and he writes chicken scratch. You pretty much have to go to class to earn the 20 % for participation and attendance. He doesn't cover the test material too well. I wouldn't recommend him.

He was actually a very passionate professor. Even though his thick accent made it a little hard to understand, sitting in the front of the class will do you much justice. He's an easy grader and offers a lot of extra points in tests. One expensive textbook, 3 easy tests, can't go wrong.
