Critchfield is nothing short of awesome. He truly cares about his students and wants you to succeed. A lot of tests and reading assignments but the extra credit makes up for it. Lectures are always interesting and easy to understand. No textbook because he wrote all of the course content in online textbook on Reggienet I would recommend him.

I wouldn't have taken this class with any other professor. He's great! This class is not super interesting (at least not to me), but he made it interesting. Just make sure you read enough to take the quizzes for every unit and you'll be fine. Also, there is no required textbook, he gives you a course packet!!! (which saved a ton of $$)

If you are taking psych 231 you NEED to take it with critchfield. Not going to lie, the content can be pretty heavy and somewhat tough, but if you go to his office hours he helps you to really understand the material. I have gotten C's on most of the tests but the lab and extra credit gave me an overall A in the class! no final if u don't skip lab

Most the units are half lecture days and half Q&A days. I was lazy and skipped out on the q&a days and still got A's on every exam. The exams are online on reggienet but you get a lot of practice with the online quizzes. Go to the labs unless you want to take the final! He gives out so many extra credit opportunities and has great lectures.

At first I thought that this would be a tough class. The content is pretty tough, but if you go to his office hours he is really good at explaining! Gives out SOOO much extra credit its awesome! You could get C's on every exam and still get an A in the class if you go to all the labs, take the quizzes and do extra credit. Best class ever.

Lab portion is a semester long group project. You get really close with your group members and it makes the stats part of the course easy and fun. Lab is mandatory-if you go to every one you don't have to take the final, if you miss 2, you fail the course. Lecture is mandatory-tests are online and all book material (which he gives you online).

Amazing teacher. I've taken 2 classes with him so far and will take more just so I can learn more from him. He expects a decent amount of work from you, but nothing overbearing. He's a very fair grader & you always know what to expect on exams and assignments. Take him if you have a chance!!

Hardest class I've ever taken. He tries to fit in way too much information, has high expectations, hard tests, teaches above the level that students are prepared for. The whole class relies on the extra credit to keep grades up. Wish I hadn't taken it

Overall he was a pretty good professor, however towards the end a lot of people stopped showing up for class so for the final he made every single question about lecture material. So if that tells you anything about what kind of person he is, you decide whether or not you should take him.

Dr. Critchfield is one of my favorite professors I have ever taken. He is very kind and helpful. Expect quite a bit of reading and some of the material is complicated. There was no textbook, but you have to buy a lab manual. The lab is a semester long group project which sounds bad, but I actually enjoyed it. I highly recommend Dr. Critchfield.

Easy to get an A. Have a good TA. It is busy work. there's something to do every week. including the first day of lab. Lab work is separate from the class. Best teacher I've had at ISU. Test are harder than what you would think but do well on the quizzes(2 every week) and lab and you should get an A. There's 4 exams plus an optional final

Easy class especially if you have done or even looked at any type of research or statistics in the past. He is helpful with answering questions in lecture but outside of class good luck. The lab for the course is very tedious but the content is good to know.

Dr Critchfield is my favorite professor I have had thus far at ISU. He is incredibly helpful and does his best to make a subject that most find boring into something interesting and manageable. Your grade is mostly determined in lab with the group project, but as long as you follow directions and meet deadlines you'll do well.

Mr Critchfield is probably the best professor I've ever had! He really cares about his students and actually treats them with respect and like actual adults. He understands that your time is valuable and he does not want to waste it. Tests are really hard, but he offers a lot of extra credit. The notes are real really helpful. Definitely recommend!

Took this for 6 weeks in the summer. He's a really nice guy, just be prepared for the amount of work to cover if taken in the summer. Not sure how it is during the semester. He will help you out, but sometimes his grading could be a little tough. If you have to take this class, take it with him!

He's an awesome teacher, and he will do whatever he needs to help you out. For our group's research project, we came up with an idea that was a little different than most, and he helped us tweak it to make it easier for us. I definitely recommend asking for his opinion on the project, he really wants to see students succeed.

He is a very nice guy who tries his hardest to make class fun. The only problem I had was that he gets lost in his words a lot. He gives so much ec that it is hard not to get at least a b in the class. Test are not that hard but quizzes are annoying. overall, great teacher

I love Dr. Critchfield! He made me want to go to class because he is so enthusiastic during lecture and loves what he does. I didn't do very well on the tests but still got an A in the class because of the group project, which is the most important part of class! He can be kinda spazzy at times but is awesome otherwise! He's also nice to look at :)
