Prof is very eccentric! 1st 1/2 of class is basic anthro concepts: midterm is MC, very easy if you just take notes in class. 2nd 1/2 of class focuses on group project: studying an aspect of online world. May seem intimidating, but subject matter makes it interesting & relatable. Readings not tested, but might help as sources to cite for project

VERY energetic professor who tries to make the class easy for you. The tests have a lot of memorization in them, but it's more than made up for in the issues he brings up. TALK TO HIM OUTSIDE OF CLASS - he's a lot of fun and has a lot to share. Also DO NOT need the book - he explains everything so much better in lecture, which means GO TO LECTURE.

Fabulous professor! His class is very interesting and he is very energetic. Easy class but you learn a lot. DON'T BUY THE BOOK! I bought it even after reading all the warnings not to just to make sure I aced the class...you don't need it!

#1 advice do not buy the book. All stuff tested on is on powerpoints that are always online. His class is hard to get into since it is so easy it fills up. This professor is openly gay so you will learn about some gay issues, so don't take him if you are any way offended. Overall tests are easy, I MEAN EASY!!!! Take him to get a guaranteed A.

Absolutely one of the best profs I've had. The topic of linguistic anthro is an interesting one, and Proffesor Boellstroff brings it to life. Word of advice: DON'T buy the book! I didn't, and I'm getting an A. Just go to the lectures and discussions, and you'll do well.

BEST class i've ever taken, hands down. He's an amazing teacher, great energy, HILARIOUS. He makes the material really come alive and I actually looked forward to his lectures. He's entertaining, I never studied. As long as you pay attention and write down the key terms, you're golden. Don't buy the book, I never even opened it.

Awesome teacher cause he's really passionate about the topic. Lots of reading, discussion in class is crucial, but well worth it! Really helpful with improving papers and easy to approach personality. Would recommend this class to anyone. One of the best teachers I've had here.

Easily one of the most enthusiastic and entertaining professors on campus. Grades are based on sections, two midterms, and a final. You must be present on the exact exam dates as no makeups are allowed (no exceptions). Whole-heartedly recommended. You will not be disappointed.
