Professor Finn is really good. Not only does he give specific feedback on your essays, but he gives you the opportunity to individually talk with him after you turn in your first draft. In class, Professor Finn is hilarious and clearly passionate about his subject. Though he may be a tough grader, do your best, and you'll be fine.

Professor Finn is undoubtedly a tough grader. But he is also extremely kind and caring towards his students. If you work hard, you will definitely become a better writer. He keeps it real and his lectures are never boring. You are given pop-quizzes on the readings (which are short) but they're easy if you read. Finn is amazing.

He is a great guy, but a very tough grader. This class is definitely not an easy 4.0, but it's not impossible. I got a B- on my first paper and ended with a 4.0. BUT, I worked insanely hard for it. It takes awhile to get used to his grading, but he gives helpful feedback and my persuasive writing skills have definitely improved.

love this guy. he is a tough grader but fair. he is hilarious and super helpful. he cares and pushes you to try your best. everyone loves him even if he gives them a bad grade. has an awesome personality. hard class but worth it! 3 essays, 10 mini essays, 1 presentation and a bunch of quizzes.

3 Essays throughout the semester, one final presentation, quizzes, and several short (1-2 page) journal entries. Very hard grader on the essays. Allows you to pick your own topics. Readings are long and boring and the pop quizzes are based on randomly specific components of the readings. nice guy, but tough professor if you want a good grade.

Great professor. As a dude, he's awesome. As a grader, he can be a bit stressful at times. He lets you write your essays on whatever you want, which is both a blessing and a curse. Easy quizzes almost every class (read the book pages assigned and you'll do fine).

Professor Finn is one of my favorite professors I have had. 3 main essays, and he grades them easily. He gives a lot of help beforehand for revisions too. Great, funny guy.

Professor Finn is a good professor and a good person, but he is a really tough grader. If you're looking for an easy 3.7/4.0, you won't find it here. That being said, I learned a lot in his class from the feedback he gives on the papers. If you listen to what he says to revise on the draft for the final paper, it's not impossible to get an A.

Professor Finn was an amazing person and great to have. Unlike many teachers that I've had, I actually took material away from the class to improve my writing for the future. Expect 3 Essays, a presentation, weekly quizzes, reading material, and 10 (1 pg.) papers.

Extremely helpful. Would respond emails on weekends. He works really hard and expects you to do the same thing-- that is how writing works. Would def take him again if he teaches more classes. He is the best. Got a 3.3 with numerous revision but learned so much in one semester than the past 3 years about writing. Take him take him .

He is a really cool and chill guy who obviously loves writing. He understands things from a student's perspective and doesn't make you do anything unnecessary or boring. He's super willing to help get you the best grade possible even though he's a hard grader, but he does tell you that from the very beginning. I would definitely take him again.

Really great professor. If you want to be a better writer definitely take this class. It is not an easy class though, he grades essays pretty harshly but he's very willing to help. He gives pop quizzes so do the reading. Don't take this class if you're just looking for an easy grade.
