Thomas Gibson is NOT a DOCTOR! He actually has never even received his Bachelor Degree. His "real world" knowledge is limited at best, unless it is from the earlier years of radio. Book wise, he is very smart, and no doubt knows about laws and procedure, but can learn that from a book. Very easy class. Why would you grade yourself? Stupid I think.

Dr. Gibson is extremely knowledgeable in the art and science of radio. He is the VP and Director of Engineering of IBS and continues to work actively in radio as he has for more than 40 years. He has significant and up to date experience and is very aware of current radio laws and procedures. This man knows what is happening in the industry.

Radio Practi****met only once a month since your grade in the class was your performence with your jobs at the station. There was only one take home quiz and no text book. The class itself is mostly announcements. Not too bad at all

No offense meant -- and Tom Gibson is a super nice & helpful guy -- but he hasn't worked in "real world" radio since like 1972. He has no idea what he's talking about. If you're looking to learn "real world" radio skills, he is NOT the professor for you.

Radio Practi****is a great class. The text book is free and online at http://www.wvyc.org You evaluate your work in two departments at the college radio station and then grade yourself. A student department head then evaluates your work and this is submitted to Professor Gibson for a grade assignment. Mr. Gibson is always available for help.

You do need 4 hours of community service to really pass this class. This is one of the easiest classes at YCP and a total waste of money.

What planet are living on. Like when I am having problems in the production studio, Mr. Gibson is always there to help out. He even help me with problems during lunch last week and missed his lunch. He is one of a few profs at YCP that really cares about students.

The provious entry is very inaccurate. The writer appears to have a very low self esteem, is obviously a loser and shouldn't even be attending college anywhere. Try a Tech school where you feel good but don't learn anything useful. Mr. Gibson is one of the best professors at York College.
