Worst prof Ive ever had. If you have him, switch out. He doesnt know how to teach, takes half the class to figure out how to explain something, and when he does, it still doesnt make sense. The material isnt hard, but he cant teach it.

Dr. Hurd's lectures are strictly theory, which is unfortunate when it comes to answering applications on tests. Lectures often end with confusion amongst all students. Barely any practise questions assigned... assignments were completely different to the tests (different types of questions, difficulty, etc). I wouldn't recommend taking this course.

AWFUL PROF. The only prof in first year I did NOT like. He would teach an entire lesson WRONG, then with 10 minutes left give us the correct one, but by then we were all confused. Brutal tests, too. BOTH midterms had to be bell curved. AVOID IF POSSIBLE.

Simply put, he can't teach. At all. But he does try, so I must give him credit for trying. Course was easy until the exam which was BY FAR the hardest exam I have ever wrote. I mean 40% class average tough.

He's very funny to watch... with all his crazy hand movements. He is a very nice guy, just too advanced in his head to teach the math at our level, that's all. He should review notes before coming to class and trying to figure them out there, wastes time.

One of the worst i've experienced so far. I'm in 3rd yr electical engineering mgmt. just took this course because i always liked econmics and finance. The material is relatively simple but the tests are out of this world.u wonder if he got his degree from Oxford UK, or Oxford(downtown hamilton)

Course is tough, and learning from Dr. Hurd is even tougher. He is a nice guy, but I don't go to his lectures because they really don't teach me anything that the text can't. Also the course is super demanding, I mean we cover like 8 sections in 2 weeks :(

Dr. Hurd is the worst teacher I have ever had in my entire life. The course material really isn't so bad, the tests were fine, and the projects were relatively easy, but this guy couldn't teach a simple math concept if his life depended on it.
