Comment:
He's ignorant in everything he does. Everything is based off of his own personal opinions and quite frankly he's awful. The tests don't even cover what is talked about in class and when you actually try to discuss your grade with him he just laughs at you and pretends not to care. Thank God I only have to deal with him once. I do not recommend.

Based lecture material on his own ideas that were irrelevant to the tests he gave. Tests are super difficult.

Dr. Jackson takes pride in pretending he's the only conservative professor at MU. If you're conservative, you'll think he's really funny, and if you're liberal, you'll have a problem with his view of marginalized and oppressed people. He talks about South Philly a lot, and likes to yell about Seinfeld. Gives the same lecture to every class.

Pay attention, review your notes. Come to class. This is all he askes. No papers or expensive textbooks. 4 exams and 1 extra credit. Come to class open minded and ready to learn about both left and right political views. He is funny, witty and intelligent.

Comment:
Dr. Jackson is absolutely horrible. I've never had a class that I abhorred so much. He's difficult at explaining things, thus it's hard to take notes. Even if he says don't pay attention to this or don't take notes on it, it'll be on the test. Moreover, his tests are designed as if they were to be given to law students rather than undergrads.

He is a very good teacher. One of the few I've experienced at Marywood. He is interested in the subject matter, and it shows on how animated he is in teaching the subject. He is funny, but you will work for your grade. This class is a challenge and you will learn a lot because of the work you need to put in to pass.

Very interesting professor. You have to work very hard because his tests are not easy, but at least you can say you earned the grade. Very intuitive and overall a good professor who expects alot and won't feed you in the information. He's conservative which is a rare find so it's interesting to have a different view.

very good and demanding professor. He strives to make you think and work hard. I have taken several classes from him and have worked harder for my grades in his classes than any other, but I also learned more than in any other classes I have taken! Very willing to help, if you ask. Very opinionated, but also very open to you sharing and fair.

MU on top 20 list/not getting money's worth. You get it in this interesting, lively class actually covering conservative position too in this very liberal school. MU students "least happy" listing shows with the whining about the professor.

Dr. Jackson is one of the most interesting professors I've had. He is very intelligent and that comes across in his lectures. The only thing I disliked about his class was the lack of visual notes. Sometimes it was difficult to keep up with the notes or discern what to write and what not to write. Class was never boring though, he kept us laughing!

I had Dr. Jackson for the Senior Seminar in American Government. I love Dr. Jackson as a teacher but this semester I felt like I was swimming without direction. I had trouble understanding exactly what he wanted and I feel like his political views sometimes get in the way of his teaching. Overall, I learned a lot from him. I highly recommend him.

He was extremely clear, but conceptually difficult if you weren't paying attention. Other than that, this class was extremely enlightening and he knew exactly what he was talking about.

Requires students to read and think, which seems to make him somewhat unpopular. While leaning clearly to the right politically, he presents both sides of issues, which offends liberals who are used to hearing nothing but their own ideology. Tries to help see the big picture and prepare them for success. Great teacher!

PS 316 Constitutional Law II. Dr. Jackson is fair but he does not spoonfeed or coddle anyone in his class. He expects you to be prepared and show up to class. If you do your work and participate in class, you will be OK; no showing up when you feel like it or being too busy to do the work. I like him very much. I've learned a lot from his class!

He thinks that we somehow magically know what he wants from us in our assignments. He doesn't assist you with the majority of work or teach very well for that matter and talks about his personal life as if it were somehow vital to the course. His courses are intense for the mere fact that he is ambiguous and fails to present any sort of direction

Dr. Jackson is one of the best professors I've had at Marywood. There is no free ride in his class but you will learn if you do the work. He's helpful and extremely opinionated but I really love him as a professor.

Dr. Jackson is a riot! He's funny and opinionated. Really a nice guy! Listen to him and review your notes regularly. His tests are all short answer so keeping the notes fresh helps a lot!
