Absolutely FANTASTIC professor. Take philosophy of religion - only phil course taught every single semester because it's that good. He speaks a gazillion languages and makes dense philosophy fun and understandable. Would take a thousand times over. Easy grader, very helpful. Looks like the guy who says "INCONCEIVABLE!" from The Princess Bride.

Sometimes when he comes into class, he'll start talking about something completely random and out of context of philosophy, then suddenly make a perfect connection. Obviously knows his stuff, will sit down and clarify anything you don't understand. It's not hard to get a good grade, but it's not a gimme, either.

Great lectures, but he doesn't let students talk...he cuts them off before they complete their thoughts. He can also be really smart alecky to students. Essay tests (easy), simple papers, and a final...pretty cake for the msot part.

Dr. Maloney is a wonderful man and a great teacher. This class was very eye-opening and I'm glad I took it, I learned a lot about religion that I never thought I would have. He is unbiased in his religious views, so he doesn't emphasize any one concept or belief any more or less than others. I highly recommend this class and prof.

His explanation of philosophical issues is clear yet gripping and he knows enough to answer almost any question you might have. He's funny - extremely energetic, jokes with students. If you take one of his classes, you'd better attend the lectures and take notes.

Prof. Maloney is great, super fun to be in class, the true/false on the tests could be a little easier. I liked him so much I took him twice, ancient and medieval philosophy

Took Honors Intro to Phil. with him and it was great. We had round-table discussions regularly and although I wasn't used to the essay test format (Engineering major), it was a good way for him to see if we knew our material.
