I really enjoyed Mr. Patterson's class. He has a brilliant mind, interesting stories and very helpful. I have heard the negative comments and find them silly. Do the work, take his suggestions and show up for class on time! You will learn so much from him.

Great professor, somewhat confused by the other ratings. He wa very easy and did not require above average on assignments. He was a fair grader and offered the option to re-write every assignment. Didn't require any papers, only essays. Great teaching methods and gave simple notes. Quizes and exams only contained info that was specifically given.

Overall a very TOUGH grader. There are no exceptions or explanations. Gives study guides but throws a handful of questions on tests that he did not go over. I am a all A student and this was my first A- I was very disappointed. I was there every class turned every assignment in studied and did the extra credit he offered.

Good class,take lots of notes and you will be fine. Three essays, lots of feed back. Rewrites for a better grade is there. Also keep a journal for 1st and second half adds ten pts. to mid term and final. Also argument paper is due, read to class another ten pts on final. He is very fair in my opinion. Again take lots of notes. Good luck.

Honestly one of the easiest, if not the easiest professor I have had. His course aims are clear and he lets you know everything in advance. Practically handed us the answers to midterm, and final. GREAT PROFESSOR. Passionate about literature, not his own poetry. some people are RIDICULOUS!

excellent teacher. writing about history is STILL writing. it is structure you learn, while learning about history. he shares his writing to show that he not only teaches it, he lives it. Great guy outside of class as well. he is a great freshman instructor, he prepares you for tougher professors while understanding your new at this stuff.

I just had him this past semester (fall 07). He was great. As long as you do your work, then you will never get lost in his class. As long as you stay organized you should not have a problem. I found him to be easy. I couldn't write at all before his class and now I have no problem writing a paper.

This is a hard class for a new student, it is more like a history lesson than an english lesson. However i learned alot about the Halocost, and Jews. I wrote tons of papers, and the exam was hard, how i passed this class with a B, is beyond me. I know the grade I got, I worked by bones off to get this grade. Good Luck in picking him...
