Comment:
Thomas Ross gets a bad rep. He is a really good guy who is extremely knowledgeable on the topics of his classes. I really enjoyed how he brought the Wall Street Journal recent news into class lectures and helped apply the material to what is going on in the world today. His tests are tough and his projects are sometimes unclear but they teach you.

Comment:
Professor Ross is an awful teacher. His lectures are extremely uninteresting as well as unhelpful. If any student asks for help he immediately finds another student in the class to assist you. Homework is difficult becuase of the lack of explanation in class as well as the lack of online examples to help a student out if they are stuck on aproblem

I didn't find this class hard but that's only because I have a heavy math backround compared to the other business/econ major in class. He grades things very, very, very inconsistently. Things that he marked wrong on your exam can be marked right on another person's exam. He also picks on the same handful of students, so beware of that.

Comment:
Thomas Ross is not a great professor. He is extremely unkind to his students and doesn't know where to draw the line when joking around. He doesn't teach the material well, and when we have questions he tells us to ask someone else. His homework and tests are long and difficult. Definitely the hardest class I've ever taken.

Comment:
One of the worst Math-based classes I have ever taken. The problem requirements were consistently unclear, the class lectures were dry and did not thoroughly cover steps of problems, grading seems almost arbitrary. If you do not want to fail while at the same time being bored to tears and forced to do more work than any other class, don't take him

This guy is terrible. He gives you so much homework. He never explains anything hes talking about and he expects you to know everything. When you ask questions he makes you feel dumb if you don't know the answer. He will call on you during class just for fun. He singled me out so much and most of the time it was borderline creepy.

Tons and tons of homework... seriously, if you dislike homework even the slightest bit do not take this professor. I like him as a person but as a professor I can't stand his class. He means well, but he describes everything in the most confusing way possible and gives so much homework as if this is your only class.

great stats professor. failed the first time with another professor took the second time with him. very helpful. the class is still very hard but he's willing to go out of his way to help you understand what you're confused with. as long as you keep up to date with homework and go to class you will do well.

Prof Ross loves class participation. Which means if he knows your name, he'll call on you every single class. Unfortunately he only learns about 5/25 students name. His class is dry and he loves to talk about "no free lunches". Gives out dumb homework that has nothing to do with what you're talking about in class. Has more to do with current events

He loves talking about current events. Always talks about the Wall Street Journal. He is not clear with the information and does not use the text at all. Also he makes you participate in class my calling on people randomly. I cant stand his class.

Not too bad overall.... but really challenging course. Dont buy the book, you will never open it.

He is tough but fair and teaches very technical subjects down at a level people can understand. Basically, he is the REAL professor that most envisioned before coming to college-- only to be spoiled by the majority of profs that hand out A's like candy. Thus, you will find many students here that don't like him. I found him to be great.

This course is very demanding but you will learn a lot. The tests are long and hard to finish on time, so you need to know the material. I would only recommend buying the book because you are able to have open book tests! But - that doesn't mean they are easy! Prof. Ross is an excellent professor and I would highly recommend him!!

Ok, so look, this guy is awful. Don't buy the textbook - I never used it. He doesn't even care which edition you buy. Everything you do is done by him. Problems take forever, minimum 1 hour homework after every class, sometimes up to 4 hours. Tests are way to hard for 8 weeks of hard core work before one. He's BAD NEWS!!!

Comment:
Ross is an interesting lecturer and and teaches worthy information, but the range of information available for tests is WAY too broad(each test often covers 6-7 chapters). Don't even think about cramming. Wish he would add another test to his curriculum and condense the range of information.
