You don't really have a choice of taking him since he is 1 of 2 Anatomy professors but he is awful! You can barely understand him in lecture and he is a very unreasonable professor. He refuses to give you excused absences even for a funeral! Very rude in emails as well. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Comment:

Prabhakaran is sometimes hard to understand, but he's a great prof! You can tell he's passionate about what he does. Every class is a powerpoint lecture but that's to be expected with this course and luckily, he doesn't just read directly from the notes. He gives out practice exams before each test that are extremely similar to the real thing!

Comment:

For starters, you can't BS this class and get an A. He gives you note packets. There's an online hw assignment before each test. That's the only time I've used the textbook (the test material is all in the notes). Before the tests he gives you a review sheet and a practice test (VERY helpful!!) There's also SI sessions if you need extra help.

Comment:

You're gonna start off overwhelmed with all the material you'll need to know but you'll get the hang of it. Prabhakaran does a great job in getting the material across to you, he's really passionate about A&P. Lectures will get boring -.- I highly recommend getting the lab manual for his class, it will go a long way. Labs are easy if you study.

Dr. Prabhakaran is my favorite Biology professor at Texas State. He is so knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. He is genuine and a very kind man - wants all his students to do well. Participate in class! No one ever answers his questions, sometimes frustrates him. Would love to take his class again and recommend to anyone! He's great

I was expecting to hate this class but ended up really enjoying it. I would recommend reading and re-reading his powerpoint slides and it helps to memorize as much of them as you can. His test questions all feel like trick questions and can really throw you so be prepared for that. Doing well in lab is extremely important for your final grade!

I took this class last semester, and received and A. Work hard and do everything that he gives you on his reviews. Work hard in lab to get an A it will bump up your grade, if you attend class and sign the role sheet you will receive extra credit as well.

Dr. Prabhakaran is very knowledgeable and does his best to communicate that. The lectures could be better organized and more concise, but they're pretty easy to figure out. YOU HAVE TO STUDY. You do not need the book. He gives reviews, but they are nonspecific; know EVERYTHING about the subjects listed. Write and memorize your short answers.

challenging class but he was the most helpful professor I've had thus far! The material is complex but he makes it very possible to do well. Tests are challenging but gives you more than enough resources to prepare for them. Tests come directly from the powerpoint lectures. Talk to him! he's always there to help

I went into this class expecting a bad grade, but I ended with an A. However, i worked my ass off for it. He gives reviews of exactly what you need to know for your test. Exact matching and diagram. So i have no idea how people missed questions on those. Never payed attention to lectures. LAB IS HARD WORK.

Prabhakaran, he is a little difficult to understand but he does use a microphone. His exams are very tricky!! Be prepared for that, he does expect you to study & understand the material, but he also will bump up your average because of lab if you do well, he does take role, but honestly make a friend & take turns signing role. Would def take again.

He's a good teacher but hard to understand sometimes so sit up front and pick up the powerpoint lectures he prints out. The tests are passable and you can get a grade as long as you study. I had the code for the online textbook and didn't even use it all that much. I LOVED the labs and my IA Emily Boyer! The lab grade is what boosted my grade up.

He prints off his power points, so pay attention and take notes on them. Pay attention in lab because its 25% of your grade. Attendance will help you out in the long run (he will boost your grade). Sit close to the front, it will be easier to understand his accent. Made an A, but you have to really put in the effort.

Attendance is mandatory. No need for the book I didn't even open it once. I went to every class and took notes on the packets he handed out. Did his reviews for the 4 tests ( 1/2 multi choice and 1/2 short A) and I got an A . Lab was unstructured which annoys me but it was an easy grade and I loved my TA

I never even met the guy. I dealt with his TA the whole semester who played music during study time in class. Was difficult to get anything accomplished in the classroom.

Although he is difficult to understand, he hands out powerpoints before each class which almost word for word what he is saying. I didn't waste my money on the book. 4 exams which consist of half multiple choice half matching (which I personally liked cause if you could get 100% on the matching, you could afford to miss some of the multiple choice

This professor is very enthusiastic about what he teaches. I sat in the third row and I didn't have a hard time understanding him. His exams are half multiple choice, and the rest is matching and labeling. He is a fair professor and very willing to help but don't expect to do nothing and get an A. If you study his notes you will do fine.

Sit as close as possible to the front because he's hard to hear. Attendance is mandatory and dont be late or try and leave early because he will call you out. His notes are great. He's great in office hours. Dont take this class for granted, it's an easy A if you put effort in and you'll learn a ton. I enjoyed his class thoroughly.

This class can be very dull and the professor sometimes hard to understand. Attendance is mandatory. There is a bright side. You get all the notes you will ever need, never having to use the textbook. There are practice tests that are very helpful for tests but tests are still tricky. Show up, pay attention, study, you'll get an A.
