Great professor. Some think his lectures are all over the place. I would describe them as organized chaos.

We had a speaker from Health Science field about half the classes. His assignments are easy. A couple 150 word essays and attend a few events. Flexible on what events you go to. Other assignments are set by University. Good class. Learned a lot about the field.

Dr. Banks is a very rigorous professor. He works through examples thoroughly, you probably won't understand it; he tends too mumble toward the ends of sentences. I breezed through gen chem but got a C in organic. If you have a question, make it quick or he becomes a bit upset with you. Point is, organic is tough, but Banks makes it doubly so.

Banks works at a strenuous pace, if u have questions, he will answer but he is happier when u dont have questions. haha That way he can cover more material. Quizzes are very hard, the highest class average received was 72 and the lowest a 43. Do not take him. Take Swartling if at all possible!!!

He's not so bad but know what you're getting into. Probably the most anal-retentive prof I've had. Took off 2 out of 6 points on one part of my safety lab quiz for capitalizing the h's in "halogenated" and "non-halogenated". I wish I was kidding. Read the book (several times) and solve every problem you can find on the material and you should be ok

You will have to totally teach yourself, so if you like that you will be fine. You will have to read every single chapter, usually twice. His quizzes are a little unfair, he will ask questions about the most insignificant parts of the chapter, and leave out the important stuff you actually need. I would take Boles for Biochem if I had a choice

Dr. Banks explains things very thoroughly but his lectures can't hold my attention. I read the book and studied the notes all the time and still really struggled in this class. He asks questions about things that seem insignificant. This class will not be easy...my first C ever

I had kline the first year and banks the second. As far a who is easier, definetly kline. But kline seems hurried all the time and doesnt seem to have the time of day for you. So if you are a student that likes a good teacher take banks, but if youre one who can teach yourself organic id go with kline. Banks test and quizzes seem really hard. If yo

Biochemistry is a very hard course in general. Expect to read each chapter. He goes very fast. His quizzes are difficult but if you read, go to class and study you'll do fine. He curves his test. Usually very difficult. This class depends on effort. I made a C first semester and a B the next. He's a good teacher. Print off notes from class.

It is amazing how Dr. Banks is teaching... he should have called it quits years ago. And the funniest part of all is he works as an advisor for pre-professional students. Dr. Banks is a joke!
