He expects you to know past classes as if you took them yesterday, but besides that, he is incredibly intelligent and a solid teacher. I took him online so i was not able to interact as much, but still understood everything he taught. If your goal isnt to be six sigma certified, you only need a 35% in this class to pass.

Do not take 571. Without question the hardest class I have ever taken. I had to spend double the amount of time on this class per week than all of the other courses I took this semester combined. Unless you want to be miserable all semester I highly recommend not taking this class!!!!

This class is awful. Haas lets you know that he is the smartest person in the room and makes you feel very insufficient. It's also really insulting that every single class he has to continuously talk about politics and insert his opinions. I can't believe I am paying this guy to do that. Very unengaging class with ridiculous expectations.

Online class, using 1yr old lecture videos. Almost zero help or interaction with the class, irrelevant info in lectures and hw and rarely explains what's in the reading. Main textbook is from 1945, and he cites a 17yr old research study for why he teaches how he does. Utterly terrible, I'm in the top of my class and I got nothing out of this man.

Worst instructor and class I have had. I received an A and learned next to nothing. His poorly designed assignments and irrelevant lecture questions left little time to read better textbooks and lecture notes. His syllabus included inappropriate material leaving insufficient time to cover the basic forecasting models.

This class is hard. Prof. Haas has a lot of rules and requires attendance, but he's incredible smart and lecture is a blueprint of how to succeed in his class. Exams are impossible; but don't fear! Just do everything he says, and you'll easily pass this class. I failed every exam, but kept up with assignments, attended ALL lectures, and I got a B.

You must attend every class, discussion and lecture. Homework is given constantly. The way he does things is confusing and doesn't help. The TA helps a lot more than he does. I recommend just taking it in the summer or winter. Horrible teacher.

You are going to fail the 1st exam-- no matter how good you are in stats. BUT the next exams are easy... if you're ready! Focus on the examples you do in discussion & you'll be fine

Recommendation: You will receive an A if you're able to get ahold of previous exams. But study and work on the problems yourself!!!! Go to see Haas during his office hours-- he's actually a lot of fun! As business majors, we're not use to putting in the work... PUT IN THE WORK PEOPLE!!!

Do not take this class. It's just that simple. Try enrolling in the summer course instead. This class has seriously ruined my entire spring semester.

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLe. You literally learn nothing. I attend every class and still struggle. My TA has not really helped much at all. Homework every week and you can get nothing if you do a problem wrong. This class royally sucks, avoid at all cost

Rough class. Everyone should be able to make it through. he is very clear of what he expects, so just follow his work instructions. The fact that you really do not learn anything does not play into the grade. Just follow the note requirements and homework/project and you will do fine.

Take it during the summer or with the other teacher, your stress level will appreciate it. There is a reason this guy is known campus wide for being a nutjob, because he is. Save yourself the frustration. Because as smart as the guy might be, his teaching style negates any of that by a large margin.

Makes you take your notes in a certain way then randomly selects ppl to turn in after class. if it wasn't for the open book/note exams i probably would have failed because everything is so complex & is never really gone over so you can understand it. and the book never helped @ all either just made it more confusing!

This teacher likes to do things his own way and they don't work. Not only having a terrible reputation as talking over people's head, he insists that everyone write notes his way which i might add is the worst note taking system I have every used. If you miss a class and are randomly chosen you lost 15% of your grade that you have to make up. Avoid

Dont get scared & drop; EVERYONE PASSES! I failed every test and got a B.

If you can understand math and did well in 210, just go to every lecture and you'll ace the class. Between him and the TA's, you will get step-by-step instructions for every exam problem. Grading is very liberal. Haas runs a VERY tight ship, but is one of the smartest professors I've met.
