Dr. Madigan is a great professor and really cares about his students and is passionate about what he teaches. Attendance is mandatory and lecture is heavy but he greatly appreciates participation in class. He has a great sense of humor and shares many stories throughout the semester. Very knowledgable guy. Gives study guides for midterm and final.

Madigan is a great guy if you get to know him. It's philosophy so the class is lecture heavy. The thing I enjoyed most about him is that he makes you think and he stays engaged with his students. Every week he sent our class 2 or 3 current articles relevant to what we were talking about in class. 4-5 short writing assignments and 1 10 pg paper

Madigan is a nice guy who tries to make philosophy as interesting as possible. The assignments were easy and there were only two tests, which he goes over using a study sheet before the exam. If I had to take philosophy again, I'd take it with him

Straight lecture. He's funny in a sense he yells at people when they walk in late, charges people like a rhino when they use their phone or do other hw in his class, and likes to put himself higher than others.

I attended nearly every class, did well on the essays and tests, and completed extra credit. I received a relatively low grade. I sent him an email after I received this grade inquiring about my final exam performance..no response was received. Dr. Madigan was very interesting in lecture..but not a fair grader.

Took 19th Century Philosophy as an elective. Great teacher and definitely learned a lot. Albeit, this is something I am really interested in, so that helps. To get an A: show up to class, take notes on what he says, write essays from those notes. Really easy, nice, and quirky.

Dr. Madigan is one of the best professors. If you never get to take a class with the man, you are missing out on the opportunity of a lifetime. Though Philosophy has the potential to be a "boring" subject, Dr. Madigan makes it interesting with his stories and his jokes. There is nothing bad that anyone could ever truthfully say about the man.
