Tim is a phenomenal professor. He's incredibly approachable, always willing to help, up on modern culture, and excited to teach every single student. I've rarely found a professor with such a good attitude who is also so knowledgeable. Highly recommended in both Russian and non-language courses.

Look out for the leather pants/sweater/glasses combo (he wears that for evaluations)--rowr! Engaging speaker, but can be very harsh if he doesn't like you. He'll call you on what you say if he doesn't agree, and it's hard to argue with him in a language you're just learning! Mostly B-Cs in his classes, but you do get back the effort you put out.

Tim Scholl has a very silly yet wry sense of humor, and that's the best kind. I can tell that he gets a big kick out of Russian language and culture (and those of other countries as well), but he is definitely serious about teaching the class as well, and offering help when needed. It's a fun class.

He's very entertaining. Very animated. He's generally pretty good at explaining things if you don't understand. His one drawback is that he seems to get irritated easily.
