Dr. Deschaines is a great change of pace from the usual fuddy-duddy profs around here. He's unique, smart, and hot to boot! Seriously, his classes are really great. They are not easy, though - he expects you to actually do the work and learn the material.

He can be confusing at times, but overall the class isn't to bad. The tests and quizzes are exactly from the book and lecture. If you go to class and read the book you'll get a B no problem. The class does have a lot of extra work (besides tests and quizzes), but it helps out your grade.

compared to the other chem teachers out there, i hear he is by far the easiest. if you go to class and may attention u'll pull a C no problem, if you do your work and actually put in some study hours A's an B's are definitely doable

I liked DesChaines a lot. I never left his class confused and he is definately very knowledgable in what he does. Also, when a student passed away in our class, he stated that he was very sorry that he couldn't have known him, and all of us better.

Although he seems a little strange at first(because he is a little bit different), you will learn to appreciate him because he really is passionate about his work and he is not monotone at all.-sometimes he'll even crack a few jokes which is fun.
