Professor Gregory is a really nice man, however his class was extremely unorganized. It was difficult to get a hold of him if I had any questions regarding the material, and assignments were not graded in a timely manner. The readings assigned every week were a little excessive, but overall the assignments were fairly easy.

Very unclear about assignments and when they were due. Would take things down and put them up after half the class did them. No direction whatsoever. I emailed both him and all of his TA's multiple times for answers regarding many things I couldn't find in the syllabus. I had to drop the class because nothing made sense.

Worst class I've ever taken at OSU by far. Never take an online class with him. So disorganized and literally asked me to help him figure out how to use Carmen. Also, no class syllabus so good luck with that. Grades discussion posts unnecessarily hard. Save yourself the headache and do not take his classes. AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Class was very disorganized. Put a C in for my final grade instead of an A, and it still hasnt changed. You can pick 3 assignments to do out of 3 papers and a midterm and final exam. Papers and tests were graded fairly, just very late. I didnt learn a single thing. Not a difficult A, but a frustrating class to take due to disorganization.

Comment:
Not an easy class. Very disorganized, we received a syllabus revision three times throughout the semester because we were given incorrect due dates. 60% of the class was split between 3 essays, which I did not receive grades for until the semester ended. Overall the class is just disorganized and graded very tough, would not recommend.

Please do not take any of his online courses, I'm not even sure he knew he was teaching the course. Most of his assignments were not posted at the right times, closed at the wrong times, or didn't exist. The semester is 3 days from over, and I have 3/20 assignments graded. He has not responded to a single email I've sent him. Not worth the hassle.

Prof. Tim was very unorganized, to say the least. I strongly recommend you choose another instructor. I did take this as a GE. I am a second-year student and have had a 4.0 up until this course. I figured it would be fine as long as I did the work. It is okay, but Prof. Tim is not skilled in putting grades into Carmen or using it correctly. Avoid.

To start, this class (online version) is definitely an easy A as long as you do the work. However, Timothy Gregory is awful. He is incredibly disorganized, will never respond to emails, and constantly contradicts the syllabus. All in all, if you need an easy history GE, take this class. But, prepare to be confused and to email your TA a lot.

Do. Not. Take. Him. He never responds to e-mails. It took me THREE WEEKS AND FIVE EMAILS for him to fix a quiz that he entered wrong for me. Hours and hours of reading pointless material and the quiz questions literally have nothing to do with the class. Never in my life have I had a more frustrating class/professor.

Terrible teacher. Midterm and final are both written, for the final he expects 2 full length essays over unspecific overreaching concepts that no one would ever have picked up on before the question was given. you have the option to write papers instead of exams. write the papers. write the papers. save yourself, write the papers. rip my gpa

This class was awful. Gregory was awful. I'm really bothered by the # of posts from people who were in different semesters and courses he has taught all saying the same thing. The fact he has in multiple classes not posted a syllabus in a timely manner or been response to students is absurd. Do NOT take a course with professor Gregory, seriously.

Dr. Gregory taught my online classical archaeology class, and he was one of the worst professors I have ever had. He is horribly disorganized and unclear with assignments. For the midterm, he had 4 different dates listed for when the exam was available. Easily one of the worst professors I have ever had. I would give him0/5 if I could.

I haven't even finished that class but I can say it's the worst class I've taken at ohio state. I'm a double humanities major and I can handle the readings. He gives you every detail about every event in the byzantine empire and even as a history major, its too much to keep up with. I'm so lost in this class id drop it if I could. save yourselves.

Isn't aware he's teaching gen ed history. He wants lengthy essays, constant discussions about the book (his own book btw), and offers no study guides for exams. Here is a copied quote he gave us before the final-"By far the best way to do well in the exam is to do all the readings and look at ALL the material in the course before you take the exam"

Gregory was totally out of touch with the students. Was impossible to contact, never got a email response, even after multiple attempts. Assigns way too much reading and assignments - its not humanly possible to complete. Not to mention the complete lack of organization in the course - WE DIDN'T EVEN GET AN ACCURATE SYLLABUS UNTIL OCTOBER!

Gregory is just completely out of touch with modern schooling. He still believes that making you read an entire book in a week is good idea. He really expects a lot out of you and to be fully knowledgable in the book that he wrote. The worst thing is that he doesn't really test about the actual facts, you are tested on his interpretation of it.

I loved this class. Was definitely and Easy A. Weekly discussion and quizzes with two papers or a midterm and a finals. I decided to do the papers because you get more time. Overall an easy A.

Tried to contact him multiple times for clarification and never heard back. He was gone the first half of the semester and by the time he was back was still unable to get a hold of him. Class was a nightmare and made for a bad learning experience. Pretty bad when you cant even get a single reply the entire semester.

There was just TOO MUCH reading and too many assignments. You can choose between taking exams (which are ridiculous questions) or a number of 7-page papers. My TA graded too hard, i dont know if this was a reflect of Gregory but it made this supposedly-easy GE a nightmare and a GPA downer. Too much content to memorize.

Online class. You have to post a weekly discussion and reply. Lots of reading from the book as well as primary sources. You have the option to take exams or write papers. The ta's grade incredibly hard on the tests and papers. The tests are essay and short answr and I got 80s on them and 70s on papers. His extra credit saves you tho.
