Comment:

One of the best professors I've had. 98% of the people who didn't do well in her class either didn't show up or didn't keep up with the timeline for essay completion. There were 4 essays we had to write, and for each one we had to do 1 draft per week, 3 per essay. As long as you do a draft every week and ask her for advice you'll at least pass.

She gives good feedback most of the time, and gives you grade on papers you deserve. My only critique is that she'll often comment on your essay that "you need to expand on your idea more" but won't tell you HOW to expand on it.

She was a good professor. At the beginning of the year I thought I was going to hate her she just came off very strong, but as the year went on it got better. She gives amazing feedback on essays and lets to make my your grade on essays.

I went to her for help after my first paper didn't fare so well, she said it was fine and to wait and see how I did on the next one. She returned the next one at the end of the last class; I got the same grade, and the same comment. I tried to get help again but class was over, and she never responded to me. She never returned my last paper either

Wonderful professor and very nice person! Her summer course has a lot of reading but the discussions inspire you to stay current or read ahead. I learned more in one course than in almost all other lit courses total. She's a gem.

Lorna is a great professor. She expects work to be done as outlined.She wants students to THINK.She is demanding, but if you are prepared and participate, you will be fine in her class.I am not someone interested in literature AT ALL, and I got an A in her class.People who aren't prepared or interested will end up with the grade they deserve.

So I have to say I wouldn't recommend her. I did well in her class but primarily because English is an area I excel in and I guess based on what others wrote , she likes me. But overall she was unprepared and disorganized , didn't return essays in a adequate amount of time for revision but still expected students to have final drafts done at date.

Terrible. Summer session, and she did not order books. 80% of students not able to order the books on their own in time, so she blamed them for not being prepared. People who take summer courses usually do other thing as well, but she expects you to dedicate your life to her class. Never take classes with her!

AVOID! She is a terrible person. If she doesn't like you as a person (in other words, if you're not her teachers pet) she will give you a bad grade on all your papers. She reads all the bad example papers in front of the class. If you end up taking her, I wish you the best of luck!

TERRIBLE PROFESSOR!!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AVOIDING HER!!!! If you don't become her teachers' pet on the first day, she will treat you like dirt! She would insult me and my papers infront of the class along with questioning me if I had someone else write my papers when I started to improve on my writing. She either needs to quit or get FIRED!

Took this class in HS and am still regretting it. Still feel like I didn't learn anything useful as an Eng. Major and have a B to show for it (I'm an A student). She's smart, but if she doesn't like you, she doesn't like you. In top of that, her grading system makes no sense. Avoid her.

A wonderful teacher! The reviues surprise me. I hate English, but she helped me out so much. She came in on her own time to tooter me when I was behind. Since we were in a bording school taking courses, she was totally lenient and understanding of how students were limited there. She has definitely been one of the best teachers I've ever had!
