Professor Shannon is easily one of the best profs in the History department. He is funny, helpful, and really knows his subject. He's a very fair grader and more than willing to suggest research sources if you're having trouble. I love his classes.

Shannon's an amazing professor--my favorite at Gettysburg. His classes are definitely a lot of work but it's worth it. Also, he's always willing to help if you're struggling with papers. A very fair professor.

HE IS A NICE GUY BUT GIVE A TONS OF WORK. THERE IS A QUIZ AFTER EVERY BOOK AND READINGS EVERY NIGHT ON TOP OF IT. ONLY TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU HAVE TONS OF FREE TIME TO SPEND READING THESE LONG BORING BOOKS.

never, ever take shannon if you're not interested in history. i got stuck with him for a seminar and the readings made me want to die. do not take him for a fun class. on the upside, he encourages class discussion.

Very good professor. I'm not sure if he's arrogant but I can definately understand how people get that impression. Even if he is, it's warranted. Not only an expert in his field but takes his teaching very seriously. G-burg should be happy to have him.

TJS is by far the best and ****est prof in the department. he's a tough grader, but if you're interested in history then you'll love him. he's going to england fall 2005 though. so get a piece of him while you can
