Comment:
Horrible class. Behavioral and cognitive neuroscience with Professor Dye was one of the worst experiences of my college career. Highly unorganized and he seemed to not have a clue on what is going on most of the time. The lectures were unbearable, he reads word for word off the powerpoint slides. The exams are essay response, very harsh grader.

Dr. Dye was a great professor, but his lectures can be a little boring. 3 exams including the final. The tests are 3 essays and 40 MC. Be prepared to write for the essays. He can be pretty specific when looking for detail so really make sure you know what the question is asking. He gives a study guide that has all the essay questions on it.

Not an easy class. He makes you learn a lot of very nit picky stuff, but he gives a study guide which is the exact short answer questions before each test, and the MC questions are based exactly on this study guide. Don't bother buying the textbook. Do not do tophat from your bed; he found out that people do this and got pissed. Nice guy though.

Dr. Dye has only been teaching this class for a semester, so I'll try to give him a break. He doesn't really know how to give a lecture and will put a bunch of words on a slide and read it word for word. Tests were pretty challenging and detailed, but the study guides always told you exactly what would be on them. Very nice person though.

Dr. Dye is a fun professor who takes an interest in his class. He really wants his students to learn. Happy to meet with students and explain anything about the class or inside the field of psychophysics. Relaxed person in general.

I went to class 3 times. Exam 1 2 and 3. Never else. Exams are the study guide word for word. You can do essay exam (exact as study guide_) or mc exam. His study guides are hard to answer. But if you show him it. Then itll be easy.

Class was fairly difficult, but the powerpoints given were very clear. Study guide for written test was the exact test, so just memorize that. If you go in and talk to him, it will make the tests easier.

Nice guy but extremely boring class. Dr Dye literally reads off the powerpoint slides, so every class is a drag. Can choose between multiple choice or essay test.

Great guy - tries hard to make things as clear as possible. Cog Psyc is a tough subject, but he is willing to answer any question and won't make you feel stupid for asking questions (like some other profs do). Study guides for each test... really helpful. As long as you do the study guides you'll be fine.

Prof. Dye is the nicest prof.! Yes his lectures are a bit dry, but there's not much you can do to make cognitive psychology any more exciting. His tests are straightforward especially if you choose to take the essay! The multiple choice tests are a bit tricky but he does curve significantly. Study, attend class, and you'll be fine! An A guarenteed!

dr. dye is wonderful. he allows you to submit your work in early and he tells you exactly what is wrong with your lab write-ups. if you fix them, you'll get a perfect score. he is also funny and always available to his students. the material is a little dry, so drink a coke! the experiments are fun for the most part.

I really tried to like this guy. He seems very harmless, and he speaks with a stutter. The course material is extremely dry, and due to his stutter, makes it even more dry. Powerpoints presented in class are available online so it makes it easy not to go to class. However, I got myself in a hole by doing that. It's a gamble with this guy....

I think the class sucked, it was really hard to memorize everything for the test especially since instead of lecturing he would just read his notes and talk to himself. I dont remember anything from that class anymore!
