Comment:
Online lectures are sometimes poorly designed. The lectures and ALEKS progress prepares you for the quizzes and exams. The ALEKS portion can be frustrating due to the precision needed. Points for ALEKS participation and mastery. Weekly quiz that can be taken 5 times. 4 exams that can be taken once. They cannot be reviewed so its hard to improve.

He gives lectures based off of the book. He is kind of hard to follow. He jumps around a lot so notes are a little difficult to keep track of. He gives multiple extra credit assignments. He gives 4 tests and a comprehensive final. The only other thing graded is the lab homework, so you have to do good on the tests. If you read the book you're fine.

Dr. Johnson was unresponsive and unprofessional. I have never had such a terrible and arrogant professor teach me. He was not willing to take the extra time to help students out. He was very slow at responding, which for an online professor is a very terrible trait. I will never take another course from this professor ever again.

It's a chemistry course, so don't expect it to be easy by any means. It's five credit hours so expect to spend anywhere from 15-20 hours a week outside of class. It's homework heavy but the grading is more than fair. You get three chances to get 100% on the weekly quizzes and there's a lab to go with it. Just do not take with a full load!

I loved taking Biochemistry from Dr. Johnson. I learned more in this class than any class I took this semester. This doesn't mean that I didn't have to work my tail off for it. Many times Dr. Johnson took the time to explain something to me in greater detail during his office hours, and was very patient with students who asked many questions.

i have only failed 2 classes in my time at the university and both of them have been in his classes other than that i am an A student. this class is very difficult and Johnson expects you to speak chemistry fluently. I am warning you do not take his class! test heavy class 33percent of your grade comes from a very difficult comprehensive final.

Do not take this class online. It is very time consuming and confusing. I would e-mail questions and it took forever for him to get back with me. By far the worst online class I have ever taken.

This class was taught jointly with Dr. Lippert. Tests were impossible, teaching material was super confusing. Quiz and tests would have extremely difficult TRICK questions all the time. Felt like they were trying to make an already complex subject as hard and confusing as possible. Take from someone else! Wish i hadn't listend to the other reviews

Todd johnson and Andreas Lippert are incredible professors. They give you three chances to recieve a 100% on all quizes and at the end of the semester you can retake one of the four exams you did poorly on. They email back immediatly. I recieved an A in this course thanks to all there help and guidance. ps. i didnt even buy the book!

Do not take this class from Professor Johnson. He made this class so much harder then it needed to be. His lectures were very unclear & excessive. Had to learn most the material from the book on my own. There are five tests that are extremely difficult, its hard to know what to study. I would recommend taking the course online or from someone else.

This was a very difficult class. As pre-nursing students we were used to hard classes but I feel like he made it harder than it needed to be. He is very willing to work with you one on one during office hours but in class lectures were very unclear. 5 difficult tests, I ended up totally working from my book and did better on the exams after that.

I had not taken a chem class for over ten years. I thought this class was very well organized. Dr. Johnson was very quick to reply to questions by email. I thought this class was really easy and I felt like I learned a lot.

Expects you to already know everything. Is not helpful. Sits and grades papers throughout class. If you ask a question be prepared to get put down and belittled. He doesn't care about students in the least.

I learned a lot from this course. I won't lie it took an incredible amount of work. That's what helped me learn though. You will be learning more from your book and the tutorials more than anything else. 1 thing bothered me was surprise questions you would get on the exam about issues you never went over or the book/tutorial didn't mention.

I found the class to be challenging, partially because it was online, but that was good. It wasn't a hard class, but you have to do the work. If you start to slack off, then it'll become very hard. I found the professors to be very helpful, and they would respond as quickly as they could. I would take another course from these professors again.

Great! I'd say he's the best O-chem teacher at WSU. His lectures are clear and helpful, and he is always willing to help students outside of class if they need it. His tests are hard, but all O-chem tests are hard. If you study the lectures and do the HW from the book you will do fine. He doesn't throw any "surprises" at you on the tests.

O-chem is HARD, no matter what. Dr. Johnson is extremely clear and knows what he is doing and is more than willing to help. Whatever the class average is he makes a C grade . He lets you take a 3x5 card of notes to each test (VERY helpful). Take good notes, use additional sources to study, and study smart!

Professor Johnson is an amazing instructor. His teaching methods are clear and precise. He gives great extra credit on quizzes and drops one quiz grade. His tests are tough but if you study hard and listen to his pre-exam review, you will do great. It's a tough course but it is doable.

I didn't really care for him, he makes his exams incredibly difficult, although, he is pretty nice on the grading. It won't matter though you'll probably still end up doing bad on his exams and in the class unless you devote a lot of time.
