DO NOT TAKE HIS ONLINE CLASS, did not even send a courtesy email before the course started to tell us that he wanted 5 chapters read by the 2nd day of class.... which was also the exam day

Ok. In his defense, I barely went to class, but with that being said I passed with a solid C. I learned more from Crash Course than I did from him. His lectures were confusing and hard to understand. He had a lot of extra credit but your whole course grade is based on like 6 test. Yes, he allowed you to correct 2 of your worse scores.

I took Nelson's class this spring semester. You're only graded on 6 exams, he also offers 2 remedial exams. Lectures are dense and are all powerpoints. You will take MANY notes! He offers a lot of extra credit. Make sure to pay attention. I rented the book but hardly used it. You can do the studying without the text.

Nelson is a cool guy, but I had a hard time getting all the info I needed from his lectures. Most of the lecture is verbal so you have to get small details down quickly. You HAVE to read the book. Utilize the study guides!!! Do not underestimate the amount of work you need to put into this class. It is NOT an easy A.

Not an easy class. I recommend voice recording his lectures since he lectures verbally with ppt. Get to know people in the class so you can collaborate study guides. There will be content that he won't go over in class so you have to get it from the book. He revises the study guides. 6 tests. Offers E.C. + 2 remedials. No multiple choice tests.

His lectures are just slides of notes. Test just about every Friday. Nothing spectacular just a big lecture class so no time for one on ones. Class itself can be hard if you dont show up or dont do the study guides.

Never will take this professor again, I was all about psychology until I got into his class and the way he explains/doesn't explain things makes everything confusing and just boring. I changed my major after taking this class. He explains things but then doesn't say what it ties into, it's like a bunch of sentences in a textbook with no headings.

I thought this class was going to be interesting but it was very boring and long. Hard to stay awake and pay attention. Nelson is kinda nerdy and funny at times and also cracks jokes no one understands. All lectures are on his PowerPoints. Didn't even need the book. 6 exams based on definitions.

Its possible to get an A in this class but it will definitely be hard and most likely your hardest/most dense class of your semester. Get ready to write 10 page study guides just to study for one of the 6 exams given throughout the semester. He gives 30-60 term study guides, in which only 8-15 of them will be on the actual short answer test. /:

Professor Nelson is very lecture oriented and rarely has much explanation on his slide shows. It is A LOT of information to process which would be fine if he would provide a better slideshow with definitions considering his exams are mostly based off of lecture and he demands students know material verbatim. My advice, find a better professor.

Half of the exams are from the textbook which he does not go over at all. Bad job teaching to the class as a whole; sounds like he's talking to someone next to him the whole time. Although he curves grades on tests 50% of the class failed everytime. Needless to say, made me uninterested in this major. Was even encouraged by counselor to drop course

Dr. Nelson was really funny during the lectures, but remember to pay attention and take good notes! His tests are easy if you complete and study the study guides he provides. I mostly got B's on all my tests, but I took advantage of the extra credit and got an A in the class!

He is seriously the worst professor I have ever taken. He does not reply to emails, and he is horrible at communication when canceling skype, office, and telephone appointments. He has a "closed-off" personality. I would never take him again. His lectures are based off of his own personal book that he's written Biased much???

Had him twice for online courses, he presents them in an easy format but adds new info at last min. He didn't respond to emails, unless its in two weeks or too late. Writing assignments and essays may appear easy but he is too critical and gives zero credits for even 1 mistake. He tests very hard and critically!

I am dyslexic and am not very good at reading or writing. Mr. Nelson was very clear cut with what he expected and when he expected it. He was accommodating and would answer any questions you had. If you do the work, readings, and show up for class you will get an easy A. The classes where intriguing and hilarious. He is open to everyone opinions.

Nelson was one of the easiest professors I've had. He gives you a study guide 2 weeks before the test and his lectures are EXACTLY like the test. He also gives out tons of extra credit so unless you do absolutely nothing, you can get an easy A.

Class was super easy! All you have to do is attend and take notes. He gives study guides before each test, and make sure to do them. They really help. The book isn't as important. He uses it the first 2 tests, but then doesn't. He cracks cheesy jokes. He has 6 tests in total, each roughly 2 weeks apart, and 2 make up tests. Really fun class to take

You have to study to get A's. Extra credit is easy. Curves all the test. He gives remedial's to change your worst grade on a test.
