A very challenging class, but you will learn a lot. You will pass if you devote time to studying for the exams. Do all of the homework and stay on top of each new assignment. The class is heavy on word problems. Dr. Deck is a great professor.

You will learn more in this class than any other class you will take at Concord. His tests are extremely difficult and the content is not all that interesting but if you go to class and put forth effort you will be fine. He will curve your final grade based on attendance and class participation.

Deck employs a really boring and a illogical method of teaching. Takes no interest in helping out students. His exams are exceptionally tough for an average student. His subject knowledge is unsatisfactory and a student cannot gain much from his classes. However, only those students who are in a habit of self study might somewhat benefit.

Hate this class.wish I had taken another professor. Testa are very long and hard.....homework doesnt match test and no credit for homework. Deck brings a tutor to class but he spends all the time with the tutor..not avaialbe to help,,,,,,,,,,very frustrating

Always has the same two students with him. Cant get to him for questions. Takes long breaks in the middle of class and goes to student center with these students, leaving class alone working. He is not in his office enough, and when he is the same two students are always there

Totally useless class. Unnecessarily difficult. Make sure you know his way and not the way of the book, he will take points if it isn't HIS way. Roughly 25% of his class fails DS2 at least once. Continuously spouts unnecessary chatter about mario bros and likes to talk while you're taking your quizes... did I mention the quiz fairy, what the heck?

I enjoyed this class prob. the most out of the division. I had to put about 2 hours of studying into it every night, but this is college... I find it funny that most people do not take him because he is "hard" when the truth is it just requires a little work and he will help in any way possible. Great prof!

Unnecessarily hard class. The tests require nothing but the most basic algebra, but he is so particular in his method that you will lose points for not doing things his way. His brain is sugar-coated nonsense, and he does nothing but talk about Harry Potter. For Christ's sake, he has literally spent thousands of hours relistening to the books!
