Carter was pretty cool and generous. There was a book that we had to read and write about. The programming projects were pretty easy to do. He'll help if you ask. Easy A if you just show up and do the work. His lectures were interesting and engaging, but not too many people got much from them. Awesome professor regardless. Would highly recommend.

He is a great teacher and if you get the chance to take him you should. He wants to give everyone an A, and the work that has to be done for one is not very high. He takes attendance. Had short responses (which could be drawn) due for each class period for the corresponding reading. Midterm and Final both open-ended.

I really enjoyed this class. Dr. Carter is a fun teacher who teaches the content in a laid-back, yet still intriguing matter that makes you think. He has quite a few book to read, takes, roll, and a relatively easy means of writing papers and final projects, yet it all connects at the end. Highly recommended.

This class was easy. You have to read some short books on math, and it sounds boring, but they are interesting reads. Then you just make a post on what you read and it's as easy as that. You have to participate in the discussion by making one more post and then you've earned a perfect score.

Dr. Carter is amazing! He teaches Computer Science and Cognitive Science, that I know of. He is always willing to help, super understanding, and goes over quality material, not just bull. In his Cogs class I developed critical reading and writing skills because the text was very dense! Love Dr. Carter! (but he prefers to be called Tom).

Dr. Carter is THE BEST computer science professor there is. I took his Cognitive Science seminar and he is so understanding. He expects rigorous activity from his students (seminar is upper division for seniors), but is super understanding if things get in the way of you doing your work, just don't slack off. Highly consider him for any subject!

Cool professor. Knowledgeable in a lot more than just computer science stuff. 5 projects in the class that are all pretty simple if you attend the class and follow his lectures. He pretty much gives you all you need to write the programs. Would take a class with him again if I had the chance.

I absolutely LOVE this Professor. I have to agree with another comment from another student which states that he "genuinely cares about his students". I took an online course with Professor Carter and I got this impression from him with out even meeting him in person. The books he assigns are very interesting as well. WONDERFUL, GENUINE PROFESSOR.

By far the best professor I have ever had, in both undergraduate and graduate school. Definitely the only professor I had at Stanislaus who genuinely cared about his students. I continually saw this man go the extra mile to help students out. I literally would not be where I am today if it were not for professor Carter.

First time taking this instructor. He is very nice & answers all of your questions if you email him directly, but the textbooks are very dense & difficult to understand. This is an online course, so we post our responses on Blackboard. So far, we haven't gotten feedback or comments from the instructor, so it's hard to gauge where we stand.

This is the best and easiest online class to take! Professor Carter is awesome, very very understanding and is willing to work with you to get the best grade possible!
