Tom is a very nice person, but the class was awful, and very skippable. All we did every single class was take notes for 50 question quizzes that we had to take EVERY single week. There wasn't much of a reason to show up when all the 50 homework assignments and quizzes could be taken and figured out at home. Very boring and repetitive.

Dr. Tom Foster was by far the best teacher I have had at this point. He gives great feedback and really makes sure you understand the projects and assignments. If I could choose to have this teacher for everything I would without a doubt choose him. Take this class if you have not, you won't regret it a long as you are ready to learn.

He sent out an email every week with the assignments that were due that week. I had to contact him about a couple assignment mistakes, but he was very gracious and responded to my emails quickly. Each assignment is explained clearly. Plan enough time to complete all of them each week. I learned a lot from the class, and recommend this professor.

Loved Tom! Had weekly group discussions, quizzes and Learnsmart's as homework. Tom was very informative and gave great feedback to his students. Would definitely take classes with him again!

Excellent professor who truly cares about your success. The course flowed very smoothly and the assignments were easy to understand. Lots of reading but is easy if you dedicate 2-3 hours, four nights a week. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Tom Foster!!!

Online 8 week course. Good professor. You need the book and simulation guide which is like $120. Many at home assignments and simulations. Quizzes are online and you'll probably need the book. Not too bad if you're familiar with microsoft Office and general computer terms. He's very clear, helpful, and responsive.

If you're looking to get your basic computer course out of the way, this is a great professor to take. While there is a quiz every week, and you will need the textbook, he provides a lot of extra credit, and tries to make it fun. This professor has a good sense of humor and wants to see you pass! Do your work, and this should be an easy A.

Each chapter has a discussion board post and a quiz. The final exam was a written reflection paper which was easy. Quizzes are timed so knowledge of chapter materials is a must.

Dr Foster is amazing! He is so fun in his own matter-of-factly sort of way. He does not give 3 or 4 huge test. Instead he gives: a few small homework assignments; weekly quizzes (on the chapter); and a few larger projects; and 1 - 2 in-class activities. Grade is (points earned points available). A few assignments may be 30 out of 0 (extra credit)

The only good thing about this professor was he offered extra credit. If you're looking for a professor that accurately enters your grades this is not him. Almost every week I was having to monitor my grades to ensure the accurate amount of points were given to me for doing assignments ON TIME.

Interesting and pretty easy class. The only complaint i have is what he calls skill-based trainings. They are a little annoying to complete but overall the class is easy. Tom is a good teacher and i would recommend the class for sure.

Took this class online & it was a breeze. He gives minimal work & responds to emails really quickly. He was good about sending nice little compliments or encouragement with his grades which was greatly appreciated. When you buy your MyIT subscription, go ahead & get the extended one because it's cheaper & you can use it in the next semester CIS.

Took as a hybrid class. Super easy and he is very helpful. MyITLab teaches fairly well. Projects are easy with super easy extra credit options. I had no trouble w/ this class. However, you must attend class as quizzes are password-protected for in-class use only. Overall it was an easy and user-friendly class.

I took his class online. Read the chapter (or just skim it if you want) do discussion boards and test with an occasional case study. He grades on the curve so as long as you do all the work you should be in good shape. Pretty easy class. He grades stuff pretty quickly too.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, Foster's class. He makes you understand the world of technology and gives point enhancement opportunity's. I started the class knowing 0 MS office programs and I now know how to use excel and what a server is. This is the easiest class I had in the Fall of 2012

Excellent teacher. I took the online class and he regularly emailed us when things were due. He wouldn't let us make-up any missed tests or projects, so really pay attention to due dates.
