Tom...always tells you that whatever he's teaching is "very simple and easy", that "you guys should have no problem with it", and that "you've all learned this before". I would just like to know, if we all know the material already, why is he teaching us...especially if "we don't need to know this"

I had him as well for bio 334. He is kind of distrespectufl of students, and doesnt like to answer their questions properly. The class itself is taught by three profs. They aim for a low average and you learn the whole course from your TA. exams do not reflect the level of difficulty of the lecture material. dont take this if you dont have to.

He has good powerpoint notes, but you dont really need to listen attentively in class because his notes are online, and you basically need to teach yourself this whole class, with the help of your TAs...not the profs. He is nice, and more approachable than the other profs, but this class itself is brutal, and alot of work.

AVOID GOING TO HIS CLASS...or else u'll leave feeling you wanna explode! he's one of the worse prof i've had at ubc, doesn't know how to teach, MAJOR problems with his attitude (thinks he's the best and looks down on everyone), not friendly, not helpful, not considerate of ppl's feelings, makes simple concepts difficult, two words: HE SUCKS.

He gets a lot of undue flak. The course is application based; there is very little memory required. Grigliatti goes through methods and concepts very well in his lectures. If you pay attention in class, slides make perfect sense after. His q's were the easiest on the exam. V helpful in office hours

In one class his lecture consisted for 4 slides. 1 slide showed a picture of a laboratory. The other 3 were straight from the textbook. At the end of the lecture he said "you guys dont need to know this". Complete waste of time..........
