Overall he taught with clarity and gave step by step direction. He moves fast and his tests are difficult. He expects for his students to know the material inside out and backwards. There are not a lot of problems on his test making little room for error. No partial credit, he uses a lot of weird variables making you second guess yourself.

He is an excellent intructor. He tries to present clear examples of what will be in the homework, and is more than willing to help anyone who is struggling. He has a thorough knowledge of the subject, and always has a cheerful disposition in class. Some say he goes too fast, but there's only 16 weeks in a semester, everyone has to move fast.

I love math, but Tom Hamersma is by far one of the worst teachers I have ever had. I have taken his wife's class and she is awesome, but he is way off-kilter. Tests are hard, no partial credit, does not help with student needs...you're pretty much on your own. Good luck with that class and professor.

This man is nuts...would not let me make up a test with hospital documentation. Explains things, you think you understand everything, then his tests are impossible. At first my class was full, less than half of us are left. DON'T TAKE!

God, I hate math. Well, that's how I felt before Tom's class. He gave me the knowledge and confidence to succeed, and I appreciate it. His stories are funny, and don't forget to ask him about the purple socks. A subject like Algebra is definately based on the right professor; this guy's the one.

He shows you the most difficult problem that takes the whole board to do then says "thats nothing earth shattering is it"? now go do your homework that will not even cover what I put on your test.
