Comment:

Professor Jones is very entertaining and has a lot of adventurous stories to tell. He will mention essential facts that will be asked on the test, but otherwise the curriculum is mostly in the textbooks. Lectures are more story based for emotional thought. Curriculum for energy sources is thorough and interesting and easy as long as you read.

A Great guy, but gets very off-topic during class. Always interesting, sometimes on topic. He's a preacher and sometimes he gives us the same spiel two or three times. Show up, read the textbook, and it's an easy A. Get the Bio textbook (for IST111) and study it-- This IS the class. Collapse is only occasionally mentioned.

He never told me my grade throughout the semester even though I had asked several times. Lectures are long and boring, but essentially not all that necessary. As long as you read the book on your own the tests are very doable.

Enjoyed this class just as all the other ones. This was the 4th class I have had with Dr. Jones. I always feel like I learn a lot in all of his classes, more than most other ones. Got to go Electro fishing early on in the semester. 2 tests 1 presentation. As long as you go to class and listen you can pass. He is very funny and the class was fun.

Jones is great! Living Systems is such an easy class! Very little homework--light reading out of Bioinquiry and Collapse by Jared Diamond. You also have a super easy group presentation on a chapter out of Collapse. He gives so much extra credit that you could have a 125% on all tests. You won't do any lab reports and only a few easy labs!! Easy A!

Great teacher. Fish seemed boring to me but he made you want to come to class and learn. Very sociable and easy to get along with. Definetly would take for an ISC credit again. LOVED the class!

Honestly, he's unorganized and tends to ramble on about nothing too interesting. However, he's very nice & helpful! The class overall seems not to have much of a point but if you are required to take an ISC course (like I was) then take him! He has tons of fun stories and makes the class bearable. No book, No tests, Easy grader, not a lot of work.

This was the worst class I've ever had. The assignments for non-majors are so extensive that I feel I should have completed a science capstone. You can never get a hold of him. He babbles about nothing for the entire class, and his cellphone always goes off with the worst hick ringtone I've ever heard. Run away, very far away.

this is the worst class I've ever taken...the amount of work is for science majors..i do less in the classes for my major..he has way too much group activity which is almost impossible as students get into jr-sr level with work and other acitivities. I wish he'd understand this is not everyone's only class. Avoid at all costs.
