Same grading as 145, much better professor than 145, but still average lecturer. Lectures are complementary to the book, ok book(lack details), slightly hard tests at times requiring info from tables/graphs in book&handout. Rushed a bit on the last 2 weeks. Interesting class. Materials itself is hard and dense, but tests were ok if you understand

There is no curve for this class. He just reads off his notes and doesn't really teach. Went to his office hours once and it didn't help, the professor didn't even know what homework problems he assigned.

Poor English hampers the lectures. Very generous grading scheme, and tests are reasonably doable but by no means easy thanks to short time or lots of material.

The Good: Tests are fair and predictable, open note, homework is relevant The Bad: Horrendous lecturer, just reads off his pre-written notes, which are basically an abridged version of the text, and are often illegible (also I found 2 errors). I suggest not attending class, your time is better spent self-teaching.

Skip all lect(useless), read the book/lect notes, open book so print out all hw/lect note/past tests, HWs are kinda similar to the test, 1 of the midterm(MT 2 or 3) WILL REQUIRE the book(need derivation from an example in it) so print it out. Tests aren't hard but time can be a bit short. non-cumulative final, 3 MT, no test curve but curved scale.

Lectures are completely useless and his understanding of English is bad at the best of times. His exams are fair and predictable, and the textbook along with office hours will help you do well in the class.

I am a transfer student in EE. This class was the bane of my first quarter. I could barely understand what he said due to his thick accent and spent the lectures mindlessly copying notes. In the end my friend and I gave up going to class and just read the book (which was also not very helpful). We made it out with decent grades but it was tough.

When I saw the reviews for Prof. Lee telling me to drop the class, I though "Oh well I will give it a try and who knows, he doesn't seem that bad". Couldn't be more wrong. In the end, I HAD to drop late, and had a huge level of stress over the quarter due to this professor. He IS horrible, believe what others say about this!

He is one of the worst professors I've ever had. In class, he tries to explain the ideas of the book, but he doesn't really get it. Just read the book. In office hours, he is totally unhelpful and difficult to talk with him. The exams are not very hard, but they are so long (you can't finish them), and no partial credit.

He has trouble with English, but he usually goes by the book. Can not emphasis this enough, read the book and go to his office hours when u have questions and ditch all his lectures. Went to the first and last lectures only, still got an A. His grading is pretty lienient an A for us was an 80% and a B was like a 70%

A lot of material, but tests were open-note. Somewhat recycled past exam questions; HW was usually recycled too. He re-taught stuff people were confused about, which was nice, but he went too fast. To do well, you just had to study HW and all old tests. Class wasn't easy, but their straight scale was lenient--only needed a 60% for a C.

He doesn't curve which is unheard of in a graduate class. Drop the class while you still can and take another core course. He will ruin your chances of graduation.

He is okay when it comes to teaching the material and sometimes is very enthuiastic. But, he picked a poor TA to do the discussions. The TA went over previous HW and that was it. The TA does not seem to know material. 3 Midterms and final are random in difficulty, so hope for the best. Since he is the only prof teaching, you have no choice.

My first comment was removed so I'm reposting it. Professor Chin C. Lee has emotional issues which come across both in class and office hours. He is both unprofessional, childish, and unhelpful. Avoid this professor at all costs. If you see him teaching 277A, wait until he's not teaching to take it.

This guy can't teach. Midterms were ok but he screws you over on the final exam. Some of the questions he didn't even teach us how to do it and were irrelevant with lecture. I liked him up until final. No curve either. Cares just about his research. I pity you guys that'll have him for this class.

Awesome guy! Accent is thick but that's to be expected in engineering. Would occasionally deviate from lecture to talk about his scuba adventures. Gave me a textbook for another class as a gift in office hours. Very cool guy!!!!

This class is easy if you just do your HW yourself. I got a C on both midterms but ended up with a 100 on the final and eh gave me an A- in the class. Way doable.

His first year teaching this class. He's a very nice guy, but all of the examples he does in class are straight out of the book so i never paid attention. The textbook he chose was excellent. His exams are open book and not very hard (this is coming from a guy with <3.0). He has a grading scale, but he readjusts the scores, so it's fine. Got A-

The guy who probably replied before is an idiot and doesn't know how to take advantage of OPEN BOOK and OPEN NOTE exams. His accent is hard to grasp at first, but go to office hours so that he'll summarize lecture in 15 mins. His grading is a leaned straight scale, get the average, you'll probably end up with a B

This guy can't teach, and his English is the worst. Very unfair since he doesn't curve and 50 minutes isn't enough to even finish the test. take Burke. Any teacher but this guy
