even though attendance and homework were a grade he doesnt calculate them into your overall grade he just looks at the end and if you are within 2 points of a letter grade he either pulls you up if you did all the extra credit and came to class or pulls your grade down a letter if you didnt. This teacher teaches so many classes it feels like he just doesn't care. I scheduled to meet with him 3 times and at each of those scheduled times I went to his office and he just didn't show up and his excuse was I was busy. I had to drop his class due to his teaching ways. the way he does homework is also lazy and the program is tough on grading.

He is just... okay. I don't enjoy his class and I have a really tough time paying attention. But as long as you do the homework and study a little for the exams you should be fine.

This course is one were you would have to teach yourself. Very knowledgeable about math but doesn't have the teaching aspect down. I attended nearly all of the lectures and wrote down everything that he wrote as well. I have always been really good in math. Find some tutoring or a friend and hope for the best. Try to avoid taking him at all costs.

He is an okay teacher. You can tell that he really knows what he's talking about. He doesn't care much for participation. He tries to be as helpful as he can, and he always gives out papers that summarize his lectures. You have to do the homework to pass the tests. He isn't on blackboard so you have to keep track of your own grade.

The class itself is not that hard. Its just basically using sine, cosine, and tangent to solve various things. However, the homework is somewhat harder than the actual content on the test and Leathrum yells at the class and in turn scares away anyone wanting to ask him a question. The tests are hard, especially the long answer! Better study!

Terrible! His lectures are very confusing. He literally yells at the class. A guy in my class has to correct him on his examples. He gets offended by it and makes a big deal of how it doesnt matter. Gives homework online that is not relevant to the test. Tests are timed for only 1 hr. He doesnt take the time to explain anything. DO NOT TAKE HIM!

Worst professor ever I wouldn't recommend him to anyone. His lectures are hard to follow and often doesn't know what he is doing. Save yourself from pain and suffering and avoid him at all costs.

Mr. Leathrum was nice and responded to emails very quickly. While there is a lot of homework in this class, it helps you prepare for the tests. His class was fast-paced, but I didn't think it was very difficult. The tests were like the study guides. If you do the homework, take notes well, and study, you'll do fine.

He is a very lecture heavy teacher who writes notes throughout the entire class on the board. Content isn't that hard but not a lot of class work to boost your grade. The final is half of the chapter you have been working on and the rest of the semester. Don't get the book.

Unless you retained EVERYTHING from prior courses and have STRONG skills, you WILL struggle. Flies through material. Lots of HW. Tests are very difficult, all-or-nothing so you must be perfect. Tests do not accurately assess knowledge. I passed Cal 1 & 2 well, but made a mistake ignoring reviews and failed here. Avoid him!

If you are bad at math, don't take him. If you are good at math, this class is a breeze. 4 tests, all of which come with study guides and review days. You will need to buy ALEKS and do your homework online. Book not needed. He is loud, nerdy, and makes corny jokes. Don't ask for help unless you want to feel stupid. Besides that, fairly easy class.

Class is very tough. He is not good at explaining anything. He gives only one example (two if you are lucky) for each sub category. Only 4 tests and very few points from the aleks. Do not need the book unless you just want it. The book didn't help me when i tried to go through it. Avoid if you can

Absolutely the most boring instructor I have ever had. I think this is a man who really loves math, and couldn't think of anything else to do with his degree, so he decided to teach. He really isn't good at the teaching part. Pick a different professor!

He is possibly the worst teacher I have ever had. He does not explain anything at all. The homework has nothing to do with what he attempts to teach in class. His tests are not relevant to the pretest at all. Avoid him at all costs!! He is not worth the money you spend on the class and do not buy a text book!

Mr. Leathrum is not the best teacher to take for Calculus. He expects you to know a bunch of stuff from Pre-Cal and Cal 1 like you studied it religiously. He flies through the material so fast there isn't time to ask questions, and when you do, he acts like you're a fool for not seeing it. Passionate about math; can't teach it. Not a lot of hw tho.

Very smart man, but not cut out to teach. Don't bother buying the book either, just purchase WebAssign for the semester, & an online textbook is provided. He never uses the book during class.
