If you want a teacher that's going to hold your hand through the semester, Prof. Moore is not for you. Now, if you have an actual vested interest in learning, he's second to none. He provides depth and clarity in his lectures, as well as the feedback he gives on the in-class assignments. He expects you to learn the material, not just memorize it

It's clear that he knows the material inside and out, he uses clear and concise powerpoints, encourages and answers questions, and he lectures so well, that you don't even need to read the book, just the assigned articles (of which there aren't many). He uses a clicker, so it's a good idea to show up to class, even if you could pass without.

Loved this professor. He is passionate about what he's teaching and assigned very little homework (which is the best). 3 writing assignments that are worth a big chunk of your grade, they're only 2-4 pages long (double spaced) and they're easy. "Clicker questions" reflect test questions so pay attention!

Amazing professor! I took sociology 101 last semester. He is very knowledgeable and helpful. He uses responseware and the questions he asks during lecture are very similar to those on the test. I look forward to Soc 102 with him this semester.

Awesome teacher, great at what he does. He teaches you a great amount. It is an easy course. You show up and basically half try and you can get a B. I hardly read the book at all and got a A.

Comment:

One of the best professors I've ever had. He had a great teaching style that really challenged me. He makes it so if you at least try, you get a 'B' on assignments. The readings were manageable and high quality. No busy work. Great discussions and very fair tests with study guides. I learned so much and thanked him at the end of the semester.

attendance is technically not mandatory and he posts the slideshows of the lectures online anyway, but going to class is pretty much necessary if you want a really good grade. He's an awesome teacher and he really wants you to succeed.

Only has four exams and they were very hard. Didn't teach material that was found on the test and also could not be found in the book. Encouraged participation and coming in for help, though. But exams are what matters, since his class did not have homework. He doesn't do a good job of teaching to the test.

Good professor. I had him for both 101 & 233. His class isn't the most exciting thing in the world, but he makes it better than it could be. He's a real nice guy, and I never felt like I couldn't ask him a question about the material. Study for the exams, though. His 233 class has essay portions that he's pretty specific about.

He is an amazing teacher, he makes a boring subject fun and is very passionate about what he teaches. You don't have to attend all class to get full attendance points. Home is super easy. I would recommend to anyone who has to take sociology. As long as you go to class you will pass, I got a 97% overall.

This prof was awesome! I thought he really cared about the material he was presenting and often tried to engage the lecture hall on our opinions and make sure we understood everything. Easy exams if you study & I agree discussions are almost useless. RECCOMEND THIS PROF!
