Honestly, he wasn't the worst professor I've ever had, but definitely not the best. First, if you're a Republican/conservative,DON'T LET HIM FIND OUT! Second, his notes and Power Points are AWFUL!!! If you're reading this Prof. Murphy, Power Points with only pictures don't help. Especially when you talk about the same picture for 20 minutes.

His classes are simple, but his lectures are very dry and the lack of a textbook which provides a general view of the subject hampers things a bit. That said, the books for his courses are often interesting, but the papers assigned are often uninteresting and it's unclear what is desired to earn an A.

He is a very intelligent man,and a great professor. However, I found him extremely dry and that almost made me not want to go to class because of it. I also found him hard to approach to ask questions.

Instead of reading text books, we read actual books which was nice. He is funny sometimes and gets out a lot of info in one class period and his lectures are easy to follow. Superb!
