Lectures were all over the place. Looked down on class if hadn't taken biology or chemistry. Expected you to already know the information. Drew many confusing diagrams all over the board. He cares, but you have to look up all of the information online because he isn't clear.

Super nice man and he means well but his teaching style isn't the best. He coughs and clears his throat more than he actually talks. If he isn't coughing he's stuttering. Also, he is obsessed with colored markers and takes thirty minutes to draw a single cell

Comment:

Dr. Sorger definitely knows his stuff. His converses with the class rather than lecturing, so you learn a lot more. You definitely need to be in class to keep up, as you need to take good notes to pass (as any other class). He's consistently available via email and flexible in meeting with you if you're having trouble. I recommend!

Sorger repeats the same things in class every day, so you can skip class a lot and still get a good grade! His teaching style sucks!!!! He doesn't follow the book, which is good and bad. Good because his exams are easier, but bad because the stuff he teaches is horrible. He is brilliant and he tries to dumb stuff down, which doesn't work!

He's the worst teacher to be teaching Biology. I swear he doesn't even know what he's talking about. He's extremely unorganized and he just repeats the same thing every class. I ended up dropping his class, because his tests = death. The study sheet is a million pages long and you have to teach yourself.

He is by far the worst professor I had this term. He was very unorganized and did not use the book at all. We ended up going over the same topic for a weeks worth of classes and still the topic was hard to understand. If you get him, switch out!

Really not impressed. Hes a very nice guy and will try to help but he is very unclear about what the assignments are, and nearly no one can understand what he discusses in class. We all have to go to biology tutors after class to try to understand what he is talking about

He is seriously one of the worst professors I have ever had. He does not know how to teach- doesn't have a lesson plan and lectures, word for word, the exact same thing for four straight classes. If you have him, get rid of him.

Ok now his class was interesting and I did not have a problem going into and finishing the class but he failed me then changed it to a C+ only after I had to practically call the dean on him for losing my test which I eventually found. He never bothered to tell me that it was missing to fail me so FYI HE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT HIS STUDENTS!

OMG, I loved his class. He just got so excited about the material. I swear, when we were on ADP, let's face it not the most fascinating topic, he practically jumped up and down. His enthusiasm for the material is refreshing, and quite frankly keeps you focused. His tests were always very straight forward, right from the notes. Sometimes the book can be good for broader understanding, but not necessary. Just remember, Pictures are crucial...
