Worst teacher I've ever had. He had no contact info on his syllabus, no dates for the term paper or exams. He just announces the week before they're happening. He throws his leftist political BS into lectures. His knowledge of film is average at best. Don't take him.

I cannot find words of gratitude to give Dr. Williams. He not only put up with my seemingly bizarre behavior at times (hey, it WAS college), but he taught me that nothing in history, not art, not music, not economics, not religion ever happens in a vacuum. He gave me the idea of singularity- that is, nothing happens by itself. Everything is connected. We are all connected. Same with the Arts. Thank you Tom.

Dry sense of humor. Makes lots of politcal jokes when he can work them in to the material. Boring lecturer, but very knowledgeable. We watched a video almost every day. I didn't even buy the book and got an A just by being in class...I did better just litening to him than taking notes, because he seems to skip from thing to thing.

I've taken him three times so far and I think he is great. You show up, take notes, write one short paper per semester, and take about three tests. He is not hard, but if you fall asleep in class and take shoddy notes, you won't do well. He is funny, unique, and a great lecturer.

Dr. Williams is very knowlegdable about art history and delivers it with a dry sense of humor and lots of videos. There are about 3 tests and a non-comprehensive final in this class plus a term paper, but be careful you are clear about the due date.
