He does not teach by example. At least not in the Cal class. He tells the definition of a concept and then magically expects you to know how to work all of the problems on the homework. I am fairly decent at math and struggled with this class.

He calls on you in class. It freaks people out. I wish instructors would stop doing that with math. It doesnt work and it doesnt help. They think if they call on you, you will magically know what the answer is. You dont. Its just freaky.

I took Armstrong for College Algebra. He was very well prepared for any question I ever had, very organized and extremely clear on the content. I enjoyed the class so much I decided to major in math. I would reccomend this professor to anyone.

I was terrified of failing this class, especially with his ratings on here, but it wasn't absolutely horrible. Sure, he can be frightening and don't even THINK of falling asleep in his (mandatory) class, but he will help you if you ask maturely. I didn't deserve the C I got based on my (sad) work, but he definitely gave points for effort.

He really wasn't that bad, you guys! He just expects you to do your homework and try to read ahead on occasion. Yes, he may be intimidating, but when it comes down to it, you paid for the class, and if you don't understand something it is your responsibility to ask-- regardless of intimidation.
