CIS 265 with this teacher was impossible. Quizzes have a few questions with subquestions, and you had to get every subquestion correct to get a point. Hard to understand, uses a speaker in class. Mainly theory and little actual programming. No actual programming during lectures. Avoid at all cost!

Worst class ever taken at CSU. Lectures were right from the textbook, which he wrote. Assignments were useless. Exams were difficult, not to mention the "no partial credit" grading scale.

Least helpful professor I've ever had. He spoke a lot about physics/math things and it was supposed to be a data structures and algorithms class. I asked him a question about reading and he treated me like an idiot; meanwhile he had never mentioned the book once. I had to drop before my grade suffered.

Dr Munakata is an excellent professor, quizzes can be difficult and discouraging because there are very short, ~3 questions each having subparts /c NO PARTIAL CREDIT ?( this part causes frustration) and requires THOROUGH understanding of the covered topics. If you are serious about learning programming and want a solid foundation take his class.

1) You cannot understand him. 2) The class already starts off bad because we're not in a computer lab, but he makes it worse becuase he gives incomprehensible notes and lectures on a chalk board. 3) he writes itty-bitty on the chalk board so it's hard to read. 4) becuase he's such a poor teacher i had to by "Intro to java for dummies" it's saved me

He is the worst CIS professor in this school. He doesn't know the programming at all, and he is physics professor. I have no idea why my school hires him to teach us programming course. it totally wastes my time and money. My suggestion is "don't take course with him, if u really want to learn assembly lang".

The textbook was mentioned on the first day and that was it. We were never assigned any homework from the textbook or any homework at all. How are you supposed to be ready for an exam when the prof stubbornly will not assign any homework problems to work on? I would NEVER recommend this prof to anyone.

This class was awful. Will not help you at all. Class is supposed to be an intro. He tells everyone to "go to the computer lab" if you have a question. Good luck reading his tiny writing and understanding him. Has to speak in a microphone. No joke.

Class was an extreme disappointment. His education is in Physics, so I don't know why he is teaching computer science. Very unfair grader; approaches grading from the standpoint of how can he take points away from students. Covers nothing but theory, which could be due to lack of computer science background.
