Great guy! Extremely approachable and enthusiastic; however, this class covers so much information, and you pretty much need to know all of it for exams. ES222 should probably be a 300-level course because of the workload. Don't take this class unless you're interested in rocks and minerals. That being said, study hard and you'll do well.

Great class (though it is my major). Write down everything he says, it will ALL be on the exam- including dates and all those random names. Exams are tough but labs and hws are easy (and boost your grade). Try to learn as you go so you won't have to memorize everything later. You can get an A, just work a little when it's exam time.

It's easy, but it's a lot of busy work, a lot of wasted time, and you won't learn anything. He also frequently teaches the biology wrong (yes there is bio in an earth science class). Avoid this class.

really enthusiastic and passionate about his subject, which is inpsiring. lots of readings but majority of exam is from lecture (so take good notes!) if you're extra motivated, do ALL readings coz you learn lots. lab was fun. you learn so much in such a short span of time. field trip was fun, too.
