Comment:

I took Dr. Knowles as my first Biology professor at FMU and he makes you work for your grade. His printed out notes is just a jot list that you need to add to as he goes through and explains. He is a professor that makes you apply what you learned on his test so his test are more application not like straight forward where it ask definitions.

he is an amazingly level headed teacher who is out to help you get the best grade you can. he throws in jokes and youtube videos often to ease the grind of school. very passionate about what he is teaching

Prof. Knowles is the best biology professor I have taken and his class is fun. It isn't hard to study for his class as the test is 99% from notes. He is very fair and will help you if you need it. Come to class every day and he may bump your grade up some. He does do pop quizzes though every now again but drops lowest two. AMAZING PROFESSOR

I loved Professor Knowles. He was super nice and always willing to help. If you don't study for the exams you will fail. He doesn't believe in extra credit or study guides. Print out the notes before class so your hand doesn't fall off trying to copy all the notes on the board. I made an A, but I work my butt off for it.

Prof. Knowles is a good teacher who cares about the grades of his students. He's hilarious and his lectures were interesting. One time he roasted marshmallows for a lecture. His notes are confusing, but if you study, you'll pass. He does not give study guides or extra credit.

I took 106 and went to Ecuador with him for Tropical Ecology. He's a great guy and was very helpful. His tests are multiple choice and sometimes short answer. I might have done a short essay question or two for ecology. He's also hilarious which was great. I plan on taking many more classes with him!

PROFESSOR KNOWLES IS AWESOME!I took him for intro biology 105 and did wonderful in his class - so I did everthing possible to get into 106 as well. It's going great! He is a fantastic teacher, very clear and concise and makes it easy for you to pass: You just have to put in the study time and dedication! Highly recommend him for your bio courses.

The class material is difficult if you don't have an interest in the class, but he is a very down to earth guy. The tests are pretty much straight from the notes (that he puts on Blackboard to print off) with a few questions to see if you really understand. Biology is a hard subject, but he makes it not so bad.

The class is really interesting and isn't too hard at all. All you have to do is study the notes and hand outs. Labs aren't bad at all, and there are field trips you will need to go on, but they aren't bad. He's a funny guy and cool just to talk to. Really knows his stuff.

One of the best Biology professors in the department. 106 Lab is fun and very interesting. Some of the quizzes can be challenging so don't study at the last minute. Very friendly and great sense of humor. Gives chance to correct lab report for an easy 100. Use the website on the lab schedule for help with practical questions on quizzes.
