Comment:

Professor Yang was definitely one of those lenient professors who cracks up a joke in the middle of lecture. Sometimes he gets off topic and our class can be off schedule, but if you need help HE WILL MAKE SURE TO HELP YOU. Gives out extra credits, and tests are pretty easy if you do his review. However, beware of pop quizzes.

Dont take this class if you expect to stick to the given schedule, learn efficiently, or be prepared for any of the exams. He wastes too much time in class telling lewd, offensive jokes, and is just not funny. Basically, if you take his class, youll mostly learn the material from ALEKS or tutors, not the lectures.

He may say that he does not care if you go to class - but he's feigning indifference. He takes offense to that. He has a thick Taiwanese accent that is difficult to understand sometimes. He knows the subject matter well, & answers questions well. Much respect. He enjoys when students come to his office hours with good questions. DO NOT SKIP CLASS.

Dr. Yang is an amazing math professor. You can tell that he cares about his students, and wants us to do well in his class. While he expects his students to work hard, he does a great job of explaining concepts and is always open to questions. He is great at responding back to emails, and putting items on blackboard. I would take him again.

Professor Yang is a very helpful educator. His methods of hard core theorems and long winded examples are not suited for everyone. I am not a huge fan myself. Professor Yang will bridge your short comings if you care with his flexible office hours. If you aren't in it to learn, you should not take his class. You will not be spoon fed answers.

He should probably retire. he is quite old and speaks with an accent and has Parkinson. has very sharking writting on the black board. I only passed the class because he gave all tests as take home and you could collaborate on them with each other. he is a great man but is bad at teaching math to students. very spastic lectures. don't take..

Nice and funny guy, but his methods of teaching are questionable. Wastes a lot of time during lectures and doesn't prepare you well for exams. The problems are always much more difficult and in-depth than what we discuss in class. He just started going online webassign assignments which are also annoying and not helpful whatsoever.

Provides his own guided notes, no need for the book, makes review guides for the exams, and provides numerous opportunities for extra credit. Extremely helpful and clear cut when explaining calculus. Also, he's hilarious and very personal with students, he wants everyone to do well. You will actually look forward to math class with him.

Very funny guy but not the greatest teacher, very backwards in how he teaches. He never responds to your emails. He also gave us extra credit assignments before the final which I completed but he did not grade them, this left me with a 79.2% in the class, bumma.

He's a really funny guy. The class was an easy A. but i'm not going to lie, i taught myself for the most part. He's just a little confusing when teaching and i think he makes a problem way more difficult than it has to be. And you were to do homework over things you haven't learned then go over it the next day in class.

Dr. Yang is a nice guy and you can tell he has a sense of humor. However my class was full of people who needed to be in a lower level class and were so rude they interrupted CONSTANTLY! Dr. Yang just didnt have control over the class he let them dictate everything and continue to interrupt and put us behind all semester. I didn't enjoy this class.

This professor did an excellent job covering material and he understood the fact that we were not all there to be math majors. Very helpful and reasonable-I would highly suggest him if he is available for future semesters.

Very funny but that don't help with my education. Pretty good teacher but his tests/quizzes are extremely difficult(even calculus tutors will testify to this fact). You will see problems on both not covered in class or hw in the book. Many test/quiz problems are pulled from even-numbered problems in the book.

He is one of the funniest teachers EVER! His class is hard but he breaks it down in a way everyone can understand. He hands out take-home quizzes, if you're not taking him, you might as well fall off a bridge. His tests are almost identical to the quizzes, I received an A by just coming to class everyday, and believe me if I can get an A so can you

Awesome professor!! He is very clear, just go to class take the notes and your golden. The quizzes are take home and the tests are straight forward if you review from the quizzes and suggested homework. Great guy, he is there if you need help and will clarify anything. Take him! I got an A ;)

Although his lectures are straight from the notes, this guy has really difficult exams!!! The quizzes are all take-home, which can be easy but they are challenging and require alot of work. Don't bother coming to his office hours because he seems very unapproachable and helpless. He makes you feel dumb sometimes. He's a funny guy though!
