She'll be missed so much at Queens. She added true quality to the department and was expert in helping students write literate papers. She knew when you'd done thorough research, and your grade would reflect it. Old school? To be sure. And her students were grateful for it!

She is old-school and a rarity. She is tough, but she is fair. I had her long ago for many classes, including Mythology. If she doesn't know the answer to a question, you can bank on her researching it until she does and will get back to you with it. She has high expectations of herself and of her students. Gee, isn't that terrible!

Ursula Schoenheim is one of the best professors at Queens. She is demanding but fair. You know what a liberal arts education is supposed to be when you take her course. But be prepared to work hard. Becoming educated is a struggle.

Difficult but keeps you engaged, which is how a real prof should be, in my experience. I remember a couple of (till then) 4.0 students who seemed on the verge of tears when they realized they were failing. Goes to show that a 4.0 is hardly an accomplishment in these days of grade inflation and not-very-demanding profs. She is an exception.

The material is very interesting, but if you don't want to work for your grade, drop the class. She'll tell you to herself. Shes actually a pretty nice person if u follow the rules. I didn't do well, but if u read the material and actually try to comprehend it, you'll pass. Only real con is u cant leave during.**Oh and watch TROY before u take it**

She is the best professor I've ever taken. Too bad a bunch of pathetic do-nothings have ruined her reputation at the college. She is a gem of a woman and the resource of her brain is something every student should acquaint themselves with. If we had more professors like this the world would be a better place. If she leaves, QC will be at a loss.

Take pride in humiliating you in class followed by her favorite statement "i'm not trying to embarrass you" and her exams are dated from the 1970s and because the students back then didn't work to pay high tuition or take 18 credits because it's cheaper in the long run that way she expects you to put in time you don't have and get the same grades.

This was undoubtedly one of the worst teachers (if you could call her a "teacher" that I've ever had in my entire life. She is too tough of a grader and expects you to know every thing to the last detail. She'll slash points off your midterm and final, if you spell any names wrong. Don't take her class unless you literally have no life!

Not dead yet? She insulted me wrongly in '74 but was herself ignorant of Descartes' work. I survived to the Ph.D. This is where tenure fails the student. Every department has dead wood, which, like s#!^, floats. Unfortunately, many don't practice the Hippocratic oath: "Primum non nocere." Ursula is among the worst, bringing death to classical ed.

As a person, she isn't bad. She really does want her students to do well and it pains her when they don't. But, she's unbelievably difficult and she does play favorites. She expects you to know absolutely everything, even in a 101 class. If you ask for help, she says she cannot help you. Avoid at all costs.

professor schoenheim is by far the rudest human being i have ever met. she makes u feel so stupid & expects u 2 be a PHD in this class. please stay away,even if u do what she asks she could careless.i did all readings& she basically told me my paper (that i worked so hard on) was annoyingly written. she should be fired or retire asap, she's horrid.

get her out of QC! its really sad that she is still teaching. a good teacher should NEVER expect her students to fail. she doesnt understand how much the student has tried, she only sees what uve done wrong. she will destroy your GPA if u dont withdraw. i wonder how many years she has left at QC and how many more students will drop her class/ fail

I think she is well intentioned, if you show interest. But, overall, this is a socially awkward, outdated (off the wall) academic who should have been put out to pasture 20 years ago. When the high score on a mid-term is a 64, the teacher is suspect. I have a 3.9 gpa, but had to drop her class. Not worth a potential F. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
