He ordered his TA to not give anyone A on their lab journals no matter what. He doesn't give guidelines, does not give proper feedback and does not have clear marking guidelines. I have filed a complain to dean of Chemistry. If he is still around by the time you are taking a class with him, runaway even if it means graduating later, don't take it.

I don't even know where to begin describing this professor, he confused me so much during chem and I honestly didn't learn anything from him I just studied myself and taught myself this entire course.

Know what you're doing in lab. If you have questions, go to the office hours, don't wait until you've already started the lab. The lab exam isn't difficult or surprising, just know your procedures VERY well. If you show interest and that you're prepared, he will go out of his way to help you/answer your q's and won't ever turn you away.

Absolute disaster of a prof, extremely condescending and rude to students. He makes you feel stupid for asking any kind of questions. Avoid him if possible!!!

His lectures are very calming. However, they are not necessarily the most helpful. You will have to read through hundreds of slides of lecture notes and pull multiple all nighters just to pass the exam. Even then there is no guarantee. RIP

this prof has to be one of the worst. he does not go over examples and expects students to do loncapa assignment questions that are way harder. wants you to ask questions, but he never really explains them properly or he says "haa idk". not going to lectures was same as going

Very difficult to do well in this class. Has not taught 1st year and it shows in his style. Encourages questions but rarely (if at all) answers them clearly. No practice exams or questions. Online assignments and tests are 100x more difficult than the (very few) questions done in lecture. If possible do not take this class with Uwe.

Terrible. Cant explain the course material, extremely hard mid term(due to lack of practice problems), lectures are boring and not helpful at all, not worth going. I taught myself this entire course. He encourages questions, but doesnt know how to answer them.

It is his first time teaching a Chem121 course. He does not have any study material so you would not know what to expect on the Midterm(which very few people did well on btw). Lectures are very dry and boring he does not go over how to do any practice problems in class. Online assignments never relate to lecture material. AVOID CHEM 121 with UWE!!!

Always encourages questions. Doesn't matter if it's directly related to what he's teaching. He asks if you understand concepts (from previous classes) and if not, he explains them. He wants his students to succeed and if you take the time to go talk to him, he will help you improve your learning. You still have to put in the effort to learn concept

Report sheets are toughly graded, complex IR and HNMR spectra are the basis of this course, do not expect demos are the start of each lab, do research online yourself before hand because the profs explanation is not very helpful, group project was time consuming and he always makes you feel worthless for everything you do - theory exam was death!!!

If you show that you are interested and you somewhat understand the material, he is very helpful and friendly. Otherwise, he can come across as very condescending and won't be very helpful. He was great to me, but I definitely saw his bad side towards other students, so only take him if you are genuinely interested in what he's teaching.

Scary if youre about to blow something up or have no idea whats happening, very friendly if you know what youre doing or show you want to understand. Just understand the experiment (ie. follow procedure correctly) or he will obviously call you out on it. Theory exam was challenging but probably due to not enough info on types of questions given.
