Comment:
Dr. Kumar is a great professor. He's not perfect; he often tells rambling stories and makes mistakes on the board, but he makes up for it with his in-depth knowledge of the subject matter, upbeat attitude, and incredible desire to help his students learn. He has extensive office hours to help out those in need, and even increases them before exams.

Attend all classes. Pay attention. Copy everything he writes on the board. Do all of the problem exercises he gives you (more than once). Visit him in his office. Become friendly with him. Study all of the concepts from day one for all exams. Exams are two-part: 25 multiple-choice concepts (closed book) and problems (open book,notes,etc.).

Being that I do not consider myself to be "math smart," Kumar's style of teaching made my three courses with him a nightmare. He was very helpful when I went to his office for help. He often made mistakes on the board, and taught at a very fast pace. I ended up teaching myself most of the lessons.

Had him for Research Methods 1 & 2, and Learning and cognition. He is incredibly smart, but his tests are VERY hard. For Stats you have to read the book and copy everything he writes on the board. Learning & Mem was def the hardest class. His questions are very tricky. Study a lot even if you think you know everything. Very nice and willing to help

At first, you think he will be great, but then you realize that he is boring and doesn't have much to offer other than a lot of lecture.

Comment:
Kumar manages to make even the simplest concepts unnecessarily complicated and confusing. A very friendly guy and willing to help you, but you are probably better off figuring it all out on your own with the textbook, which by the way, is MASSIVE.
