Professor Duffy is a very nice lady, gives lot of personal feedback on your work, and is very lenient with deadlines. This class was interesting but there are a lot of large assignments due over the semester. Assignments are graded leniently though, and the final is easy. She tries to stimulate interest in the material and cares about students.

No one ever understood her directions, but if you ask a question you will get scolded for not paying attention. She will decide the topic for you, and basically give you articles to use, but will take points off on your draft when you use them. If you do bad, she won't tell you why other than you don't know science, and won't help you understand.

Worst professor I have had at UConn. She tells students what to write about, down to selecting their research articles for them. There is no freedom to think and write creatively in her class. She'll tell you in class that she wants things done a certain way, then forgets she ever said that. And she will penalize you for her mistake.

This was an easy class, but required A LOT of work. I had to write reflections after each class and reflections for every reading assigned. We had 2 group projects, a five-page paper, and a final. The final was super easy since she gives you a study guide that has already been filled out. She is also super flexible with deadlines.

I have never had a professor who was so easy-going. She is extremely lenient with her grading, and due dates are not usually set in stone. She genuinely understands that students are stressed out and busy because they have work in other classes, and is very accommodating. Lots of busy work, but I really enjoyed this class.

Obesity Prevention Honors Core: Interesting subject and liked the lectures but way too much busy work for the class. Had to write reflections after every class and reading, 2 group projects, a research paper, and a final. Took up a lot of my time studying when I should've been studying for courses for my major. Prof Duffy is extremely nice though

Adult bully. UConn also lost a good professor to another university due to her high handedness and being a bully towards faculty and students alike. Most insensitive and arrogant person

This course is very helpful for those who want to be dietitians! Dr. Duffy is an amazing professor caring so much about her students. She is one of the few faculties whose slides are always up to date! Unlike many, she spends so much time giving feedback to the homework while grading easily. I learned a lot about evidence based knowledge.

Comment:
If there is one and only one reason not to take this program at UCONN Storrs it is the insensitivity toward student needs and unnecessary obsession of this lecturer. She dumps her opinions about everything on students without giving an opportunity to students to form learned opinions. She is biased and rude and imposes her own research papers as hw

I took Obesity Prevention with her this semester and I am so glad that I did. Dr. Duffy is such an excellent professor and the class itself was pretty interesting. Yeah it was a lot of work but it is a 3 credit class; still less than the amount of work I've had to do in my other 3 credit courses. Highly suggest you take this course.

6 credit worth of work expected for 1 credit. She thinks she is the best professor and is clueless about student needs. She thinks students have only 1 course. She forces students to write about what SHE thinks is right rather than giving them liberty to choose. Who gave her teaching awards? If she cared she would visit this page sometime

Duffy isn't the most interesting person to listen to, but it seems she knows her stuff. She can sometimes go on long-winded rants about proper research techniques. Overall, fairly mediocre professor. Also, the final exam for the class was weirdly difficult due to the questions' incorrect syntax/grammar.

Took this as the Honors Core class. Overall, not TOO bad but there's a ton of busy-work that seems completely unnecessary. It's not a terrible class, but don't expect to love it either. Some of the information is fairly interesting, but not everything.

Expects 4 credit worth of work for a 1 credit course. Horrible to schedule an appointment with her. She expects you to sit on HuskyCT all day instead of something more helpful. She will email you through HuskyCT and set up meetings without letting you know prior.

This class was alright, but it is way too much work for 1 credit. A five page research paper and a 20 minute group presentation were not required by other INTD's, so if its an option I would recommend a different one.

Her classes have a lot of projects. Due dates may be changed at the last min and additional projects may be added. Most changes end up benefiting students by helping grades or giving extra time for completion. She's very concerned about students but at times hard to get in contact w/ out of class
