One of the most helpful, organized and compassionate instructors I've had in the New Media and Web Development program. Has lots of experience and is really passionate about writing. Gives lots of handouts. She doesn't butterball her students so if you do the minimum, expect a minimum grade.

Often seemed unprepared for class. Struggles with basic technology in classroom for lectures. Makes lots of excuses about being busy, tired or unwell, but expects excellence from class. Comes across as passive-aggressive. A lot of busy work in class. Slow to mark assignments & provides little feedback. Easy A if you have decent writing skills.

She is a professional and wants students to meet industry standards. Good sense of humor and enthusiastic. One of the best teachers I've had at BCIT. Learned a lot of useful stuff.

Valerie is a tough, fair and honesty professor. Don't come to her class if you don't want to learn. She is very knowledgeable and very helpful. She is very professional and don't ask anything less from her students. Open your ears and you will have a lot to learn.
