Very knowledgeable professor! She made the course interesting and applied different materials to help students understand. 2 short writing assignments and 1 term paper. This course was a graduate course and it was a mandatory 5-day.

Professor Jenness is very knowledgable about her field and makes lectures interesting, even for a 7-9:50 class. The only thing that I can say that is bad is that the tests are extremely specific. You have to really close read all the readings and pay close attention in lectures. If you do these things you should be fine.

You NEED to read everything she asks of you. It can be extremely stressful b/c there's so much to read on top of other classes. Take meticulous notes & make sure u UNDERSTAND it all. I-clicker required for participation; all opinion/poll based. Every pt counts. TAs are always there to help you; they respond fast via email too!!

Go to class because she does clicker questions (don't worry it's opinion based). She's one of the best professors I had. She has amazing lectures that are thought-provoking and interactive. There's quite a bit of reading, but she was very understanding and reduced it for us. This class was very interesting and inspirational. TAKE HER!!!!

Professor Jenness is one of the best professors at UCI. She is extremely knowledgeable and deeply cares about the students and their experience. Attendance is mandatory, as credit is given for iclicker participation and in class assignments. Weekly quizzes on assigned readings, which are manageable if you don't procrastinate. Exams are MC and SAQs.

The class is fairly easy, but I believe it's because of Prof Jenness. By far one of the best teachers I have ever had. Make sure you understand the readings. She helps to clarify them in class. My favorite part were the opportunities to discuss with peers and the guest lectures she brought in. Also well respected in her community. Good resource.

I wasn't really interested in criminology or the politics of anything until I took her class. She is so knowledgable and uses all sorts of techniques to get her students thinking. Highly encourages participation during lecture, too. She also genuinely cares about how you're doing in class. Really appreciate Prof Jenness & highly recommend!!

Great professor, but you really have to keep on top of the work until the end. Carried on an A the entire time and bombed the final which was 40%, ended up with a B+. She makes sure you read by providing quizzes every week, so if you don't keep up with all the reading you'll lose out on 10/10%. Tests are 1/2 MTC 1/2 short response. V interesting.

I took Jenness for C127 and I thought she was super knowledgeable and funny. The topic is interesting so that makes it a lot easier to actually learn. She gives short quizzes once a week on the readings (5 mult choice), but as long as you've read, they're fairly straightforward. Very down to earth, and did not teach her class with an ego. Def take!

This class was very easy, and if you put effort into reading the assigned materials, you'll do well. Weekly quizzes on reading materials, two short papers, iClicker participation, some in-class assignments, one midterm, and a final. Fairly interesting class, but material seemed repetitive after a few weeks. Jenness was a good lecturer. Solid choice

Professor Jenness is very organized and gives great lectures. However, you have to work for your grade. LOTS of reading and work! If you don't read, you won't do well on the exams or short paper assignments.

She is very knowledgable in her subject and conveys her knowledge well to her students. There is a lot of reading and articles (weekly 5 question quizzes on them) but it's manageable. Exams are an easy A if you read and follow during lectures. Papers in her class a very fairly graded, just do what's asked in the rubricA. Great professor.

Professor Jenness is an extremely well rounded professor at UCI. Her lectures are intriguing and challenges (in a good way) yourself as a student. I hardly ever read the textbook and I did very well in the class. As long as you know about racism, mass incarceration, and police corruption, you will easily pass this class.

Professor Jenness was a very intuitive and active professor. Her class was very easy and midterm is also very easy. I rarely read the book and did not study for the midterm (oops) and I received and 80%. She is very straightforward with her teaching and does not beat around the bush when explaining certain topics. She is one of the best at UCI!
