Most of the stuff needed are on the slides. But do put in as much detail as possible on the exams. They allowed a note sheet for the exams which is helpful. Overall really good prof.

Really nice guy. He deffinetly has a passion for the material he teaches. However, the material is as dry as a stale cracker. just be ready to work your butt off.

Great! Going to lecture will help clarify the material. Undoubtably he's been busy and had to miss some classes this term (not without providing substitutes), but that's only because's he's the Head of Zoology and has a lot of stuff to attend. A lot of material, but it's obvious he loves the course and is very passionate about his subject.

That is right. It is not fair he left during mid-term. the new substitute prof is so boring and unclear.

Very charismatic lecturer. He gives very good lectures but there is so much info to absorb in one lecture he sometimes doesn't finish or has to rush. He also left mid-term for 2 weeks to go to China... so that wasn't very cool

He has power point presentations so it is useful to have the notes during class. I hated the on line quizzes before each lecture, though. He is clear but he teaches to much information and at the end only certain things need to be learned, he doesn't make clear how much details we need to learn and sometimes all that info seems overwhelming.

He is a good lecturer, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He himself cant get through all of his notes in his own lecture... yet we must know every detail. The course is packed with material, the lab could be its own separate course. Attendance is unimportant, the textbook not uselful. The final covered a tiny bit of what we had to memorize.

so much info, long mt w/ no time, most ridiculous final ever... you study for it thinking you need to know everything, which you do, but seemed like time wasted when its only evolutionary traits of 4 things, essay on developmental significance of 1 of 2 things, and 3/4 of homology+analogy questions. Notes given, don't go 2 class, 2quizzes/wk

He's an enthusiastic guy but there's just so much info. During lectures he goes through ALOT of notes fast and even if it's well meaning it's really difficult to retain all that knowledge. The textbook sucked. Too much useless info in an already info intense course. It only helped me with a few case studies.....nothing else.

As noted, Dr. Milsom is a good lecturer. Lots of material to know. Only gripe was with the text: Too advanced, & too much irrelevant material. I abandoned it after the MT & did well in the course. Dr. M was awesome bc a bunch of us approached him for extra help & he spent hours with us reviewing for the Final. All in all course is not that bad

i have mixed emotions abt this course! Dr. Milsom was an awesome lecturer! very clear, but he doesn't narrow down da stuff we need to know 4 the MT&final (which was sux >0< cuz we had 2 memorize SOO much) but da course itself was very painful! possibly the heaviest workload i've ever had 4 a class! advice for every1: dun take it if its not required

Great prof, one of the few that knows how to lecture. Course it quite intensive though and requires much memorization. Would be nice if he was more clear on what we needed to know as a huge amount of info is presented.

Go to lecture only if you preread the material. That will answer questions you have. The midterm will catch you off guard. The final is fair because most sections you can choose 1/3 questions and focus on the one you studied for or understood the most. Don't forget to work hard in lab and correlate the material to class material.

Teaches the material in an interesting manner and does his best to help students out and explain things clearly! Do the friday homework! THAT is both exams! There is a lot of material but all you really need to do is remember most of it and express it coherently! That's the key!

He was not very clear, and he did not provide adequate notes. The text was horrible and in order to succeed, one had to learn everything themselves. This is a very difficult course, and requires A LOT of work if one wants a really good mark.
